Hadn't seen this posted, if it has been flame away!

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago-bears/post/_/id/4691167/tillmans-deal-maxes-out-at-3-25m

So looks like a very very team-friendly deal with only 250k guaranteed and the base is only 2.25.

Here is the full breakdown:

Length: One year

Total: $3.25 million

Base: $2.25 million ($250K of which guaranteed for injury)

Roster bonus: $400,000 ($25K per game on the active 46-man roster)

Workout bonus: $100,000

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Wow.
If the front office can get back Tillman with this per game clause, I commend them.

Production and health should always be a part of contracts.

I feel we are seeing alot of front office protecting contracts since the new CBA and cap on rookie salaries.
I think the rookie cap has had immense ramifications on vet one year deals.... and now that is even being tightened down more.

Still though you get the big Peppers contract, but I think it has some FO friendly clauses too.

Same with Cutler's contract, the numbers are gaudy, but when it's broken down, it gives the FO a LOT of flexibility. The Bears have been doing a really good job getting guys for prices that do not hurt the team in the least bit.

Fantastic contract and even if it wasn't I still would have been happy because it's Peanut.

He carries a cap hit of $3.05M, still. Good deal but don't let the base of the deal fool you.
