Hawks outplayed the Blues in both games but somehow ended up losing them.

I honestly feel the better team should always win a 7 game series. But it appears the NHL may different plans.

Still plenty of time for that to happen.

I don't think we will see Backes for a few games at a minimum. How big of a difference does this make? I'm lead to believe that removing seabrook for backes gives us the advantage and not them. Not sure if that's correct though.

The NHL is not going to fix a series to make sure the defending champions from a major metropolitan city are eliminated in favor of the Blues.

Any worry about somebody who doesn't see much ice time taking a run at Toews or Kane?

That's always a concern with the Blues. Not exactly the cleanest team in the NHL. The guys that would try that can't catch Kane, so I'm not worried there. Toews? Likely wearing a target for the rest of the series. I also think Duncan Keith will be a prime target for the Blues.

Lineup looks like it's pretty similar for the Hawks, except Versteeg and Bickell have been switched.

29-19-20
10-26-81
23-65-88
52-16-28

On the D pairings, the reports from the beat writers indicated that Keith was skating with Brookbank a lot.

Backes made the trip to Chicago with the team but was not on the ice for the morning skate.

If Backes returns by the return to St.Louis we really really got the worse end of this thing, so lets put it behind us.

Blackhawks room for error is completely gone, no bad periods. No more end of period goals. No more damn penalties. play your game and lets win 4-2

Maxim Lapierre is going to do something before this set is over. No doubt in my mind.

Why? He's a "WARRIOR".... he was ready to fight right after the hit.... he should easily be able to play a little hockey game. /sarcasm

In all seriousness, I have to imagine he has a fairly bad concussion and while I dislike Backes as a Hawk opponent, I do hope he fully recovers and does not risk his health trying to come back early. I would be surprised to see him come back in this series TBH.
