I'm not convinced Pujols is clean. He has played with an elbow that has needed Tommy John since 2003

Everyone criticizes Pujols 'cause he's a big guy, apparently any dude who is big is on roids, and he's good. In all honesty. Just let him do his thing.

Well, he also plays for Tony LaRussa, possibly the worst steroid-enabler of the era, so that is another mark against Pujols.

And really, that's what this whole "cloak and dagger" and "don't snitch" mentality the players have had for the previous three decades or so has wrought. Everyone is under suspicion, everyone is getting a second look by the fans and the media.

We've all played a part in this. The players "cheated" (though not any worse than players of previous eras have), the managers and countless others (owners, GM's, MLB head personnel) enabled and the media and the fans ate it all up without so much as a question.

So really, I don't feel that bad when players get upset that fans and media members are suspicious, because sadly this is the environment that has been brought on throughout the years in part by the actions of the players and the MLB themselves.
