Note how both Green and Johannsson (whom we took from Germany and Iceland, respectively) are already playing for us on the biggest stage in their youth... bright future.

Donovan telling the media not too long ago about how he isn't affected by the result of the match anymore, how he's lost his edge and how he doesn't give his all in practices because he has to save himself really hurt his chances and probably pissed off Klinsmann. Donovan was honest but he should have kept some of the stuff he told the media to himself.

Hasn't exactly performed in MLS action this year either.

Yeah...I think thats an old school german thing about maximal effort each practice leading to maximal performance vs the aging body and easy day hard day that more modern athletic paradigms might favor.

This is a tough group to line up, and in my opinion we should have moved Beckerman to defense, Jones to defense, and pushed out some of those bums while sliding Wondolowski and Donovan back to winger

The two international players need to be here to make them permanent U.S. players, and having some youth around is good. The guy I have an issue with is Bedoya as he isn't worth Landon Donovan to the team in Brazil. But if you can't see Landon at wing, he doesn't fit with Dempsey or Altidore and it was messing up Dempsey to play him back.

Whatever, its sucks. If Wondo was playing wing instead of Bedoya, Landon could fairly seemlessly sub for him at 70 minutes or 60, and both players would mean more scoring chances for us, because this is a weird group of death without a good defense. Going to be a shootout.

When Donovan took the time off that probably ticked off Jurgen... Their relationship isn't the greatest. I'm sure Jurgen is relieved to get this over with so the media can get as much of it out of their system before June comes.

Still think Donovan should have made the roster, IMO.

Guess we'll see how it works out, but we'll miss his experience for sure.

I understand the youth movement. But I still think Donovan is a better choice then a few of the guys. You're right though, they will miss that experience.

I for one was not surprised. A the same time, experience on a team is a good thing unless Klinsman really thinks the Donavan has really dropped off. The guy is in poor form either because hes rusty, old, or both. Im sure hes on the reserve/replacment short list along with Magee.

I see wondo getting very little to no PT in the WC. Bedoya (Has stepped up to a higher level in the last year in France) might start at RM and Zusi at LM with Fabian Johnson moving back at LB.

Ya, I'm pretty sure too. It wouldn't be the hardest thing to photoshop either. But then again, the folds in the shirt don't look stretched out.

Marca (One of the top newspapers in Spain). IMO this picture looks a lot more realistic.

Klinsmann takes care of an American 'God'
