Just a thread for input, who do you think the top five players in MLS are? And who do you think are the top five in the world?

Well non of them play or the FIRE....

I'd say in MLS not in any order:
Keane, Donovan, Higuain, Valeri and Dempsey

In the World:
Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta

Would Villa make your cut for MLS if/when he signs with NYCFC?

Yes. Unless he's coming to MLS just to collect a pay check, which I don't see happening. I'd also put Kaka on that list, for the same reason.

What about Robinho?

With all these new DP's coming in it's going to be hard to pick the top 5 in the league. NYCFC is adding Lampard and Villa, I'm sure they will add a third before the 2015 starts. Orlando is talking about Kaka and Robinho, I'm sure they will add a third before the 2015 season. Miami (once officially named, will have three big name DP's and I'm sure Atlanta will also.

So that list of top 5 players in MLS is going to a pretty good list.

Where would you rank our best player so far this year? So far Quincy has been our best player and he wouldn't crack the top 20. So if Dollar Menu doesn't start going after these kind of players, in 2017 we will be lucky to crack the top 40-50 player list.

Wouldn't even bother trying to rank that.

All that would matter is we won't make the top 10, 20, 30 or 40 in 2017 once all the expansion join the league. The norm is going to be having 3 (unless league increases it) big name DP's and teams like LA, LA2, Toronto, NYCFC, New York, Orlando, Atlanta, Miami, Seattle will have such players. I'd bet that teams like Kansas City, Portland, RSL, Vancouver, Montreal, DC and Houston would be to far behind them. So as long as Dollar Menu is our owner we will be NO where close to be added to the list.
