LOL. We're the Cubs. We don't need to build our brand. We're in the top 5 in terms of value and popularity despite being awful. Radio is also about the least effective way to build your brand these days. We are also going to make a shitton more money off of the upcoming TV deal coming in 2020 when the CSN contract expires in 2019.

Good for the Ricketts. How does that benefit you?

You're the one talking about how the Cubs need to build their brand. They have a pretty big brand.

You said "we".

But yeah, unless I'm presented with credible information to the contrary, I'll remain convinced that they're better off in the long run with national exposure.

Can't be. It's all the native Chicagoans going forth and spreading the gospel of Chicago sports to whichever corner of America they settled. :D

You mean the rest of the country doesn't watch WGN? Noooo... really?

With major sports all pushing their own networks and possible expansions, plus cable packages for teams, there is no way for any mixed audience national cable network to compete.
