My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Illinois Fighting Illini
He makes Barney and Olt irrelevant. I would keep him. A util that hits like that is hard to come by.

He's batting .295/.401/.488 since April 16th...
the only way they even think of trading him is if they bring up both baez and bryant and need to use him to clear 40 man spots , otherwise he sticks as a veteran LH back up bat

VS
RH pitching: 136 AB .279/.391/.456
LH pitching: 20 AB .250/.348/.350

I'm not sure why they do not play him every day at 3B. Olt hitting .200/.289/.575 is not much of an improvement.

Reality:
Olt in 40 AB vs LH pitching 7 RBI of production
Val in 20 AB 3. So x2 AB's 6. Not much loss but a higher OBA.

Probably Olt's .844 OPS vs. LHP. Olt is definitely the better option vs. LHP.

Saddly it is Barney vs Olt here.

Before game tonight:

Barney: .203/.264/.297
Olt: .150/.233/.364

From what Rentera has been talking about he places more value on OBA and having good AB's.

Olt falls behind too much in the count and has one of the highest swing an miss rates in the league.

I believe they should demote Olt and have him play full time at 1B to get a rhythm going.

If he is hitting .230 in AAA then it is time to shit can him. Let some other team figure it out.

I have decided that I want Valbuena traded. His BABIP is through the roof at .373. He currently has the highest wOBA amongst 3B and 2B(by almost 20 points for 2B). His value has never been higher. We should get rid of him and get someone who can be apart of this team going forward, ideally an OF or P.

Sorry, he's at best a throw in on that type of deal

Depends on what you consider a part of the team going forward. I think it's rather unlikely he nets a top 10 type prospect from a team. However, they got Ivan Pineyro for scott hairston. Pineyro was a fringe top 30 prospect for the cubs coming into the year. I think you could possibly get a 45 rating guy for him which would be on the level of someone like Ramirez coming into the year maybe more if a team is desperate.

That being said, you're not likely to get someone whose more than an average shot to be better than average. As others have said he's likely to be a second piece in a trade.
