Hugo Almeida will miss Sunday's game against the U.S. as he is officially out for a minimum of 10 days.

2-1 USA (Dempsey and Bradley for the USA and Ronaldo for Portugal)....

Clinched a ticket into the knockout stage and will play the winner of group H (Probably Belgium).

USA has a minor chance to win, and a better chance to draw. And that chance is to score 1st. I thought the Ghana result was the most important of the games no matter what. So a draw here wont be bad at all. Also considering the GD with Portugal, a draw serves the USA well.

I know Portugal is mentally fragile, most of the time. But they are also the most unpredictable team in the WC. And, lost in the debacle vs Germany, is that at 0-0 and even 0-1 Portugal was doing fine against Germany. Had they still lost to Germany 11v11? More than likely, but going down to 10 was always going to make it look much worse than it was.

So that leaves the squads. I already said in the other thread, I think Clint should be the 1 in a 4-5-1. I would go.....

----------------------Howard-----------------------
Johnson-----Besler-----Cameron-----Beasly(I guess)
-------------Beckerman-----Jones-------------------
-----------------------Bradley-------------------------
Zusi----------------------------------------Bedoya----
----------------------Dempsey------------------------

The main battle is in the middle. Veloso, Moutinnho, and Meirelles against the USA middle 3 will be huge. But any hint of a crowded middle of the field leaves Ronnie and Nani 1v1, where they thrive. Its still scary thinking of what Ronnie can do to Johnson or Beasley god forbid he and Nani switch sides. But even Nani having a go at Beas over and over gets the nerves going. Should be a fantastic game. And im hoping for a draw.

US needs more Zusi. Guy has been rock-solid. Would be nice to see Wondolowski as a sub too.
Bradley has to play better. If Johansson plays, he can't be pushed around like a candyass ala the Ghana game.

US wont win if they have to clear 45 times out of their own penalty area again (WC record).

and altidore should be back for group stage if the US makes it
