If the Bulls can only bring one player out of Kirk and DJ, who would you choose?

I agree, DJ all the way. But my spider-senses tell me GarPax will pay Kirk $3M and let DJ sign somewhere else for less.

I think they'll bring back Kirk for the vet minimum no matter what.

only question is if they have enough money to sign DJ on top of that.

if all you want is scoring off the bench at that spot DJ does that well. What that ignores is who else are they going to have coming off the bench? What if they sign a bunch of shooters and scorers? Guys who can get shots up are the easiest thing to find out there. But those types of players have to be reigned in by somebody who will run the offense so it doesn't become a contest to see who can score the most off the bench. The leadership and defense that Kirk brings isn't going to fall into your lap can't just be found everywhere.

The advantage Kirk has is size/defense. DJ gets 5.0 assists to Kirks 3.9 and has a better assist to turnover ratio, I would say the offense ran fine with him.

DJ every time. I love Kirk more than a lot of this city, but the team needs DJ's scoring more than Hinrich's defense.

DJ. If Rose goes down again, he gives you more offensively than Kirk.

If so, why can´t the Bulls get someone since 1998?

I like Kirk, but he needs to hang em up. Therefore, DJ, a second season in the system he should be fine plus Thibs will make him competent on defense

If you can bring Kirk in for a Lindsey Hunter role, then you do that. DJ over Kirk as a primary backup all day long. DJ might want his payday, which is what keeps me from getting my hopes up.

I still don´t understand why this has to be a "either ... or ...."

If Hinrich signs for the league vet (which I think he will) there is no reason to choose.

The question is do you have another 3-5 million to resign DJ?

I have confidence that Hinrich will sign for the min here. Perhaps that's why the team "overpaid" him initially...to give him a little more money with the understanding that he'd be back for the min next time. DJ's asking price is the key here. The market is looking crazy high right now so it's possible that DJ is out of our range. Maybe he'd be willing to take a discount, but no one can blame him for looking for that payday.

Who cares? If Rose goes down, no back up PG can replace him. Season would be over. Any PG that can play a competitive 10 min would do.

Frankly, Thibodeau seems to get the most out of PGs (Rose, JL3, DJ, Nate) not too worried about the backup.

What the heck is Kirk's excuse then? :smug:

You even look at Kirk...he had a renaissance of sorts in the 2nd half of last year once healthy and his minutes were managed.
