Here's some good news. McLeod signs two year extension.

When Jason McLeod withdrew his name from consideration for the San Diego Padres GM job, he said he did it in part because he wanted to see this through in Chicago.

In 3 years the Cubs Senior Vice President, Player Development and Amateur Scouting has led an astonishing rebuild that has taken the Cubs from one of the worst farm systems in baseball to quite possibly the best.

What's more exciting is that these prospects are on the brink of making the majors. It's no time to leave right when it is about to get good.

Apparently McLeod agrees, signing a 2 year extension per Scott Miller of Bleacher Report and formerly of CBS Sports.
