Gasol is much better than Boozer offensively and gives us more size in the Paint. Also having a guy like Taj to rotate with him and PF really makes this a good signing and if they got him only for $6.5 Million a season then this is a REALLY GOOD SIGNING! Now go get Stephenson or Ariza damn it!
Like someone pointed out in another thread, we now have 5 PFs in which 4 of them need serious minutes.

Gasol will be a slight improvement over boozer despite being 2 yrs older ..
Gasol will be more of a inside player then boozer and he has more range outside ( 3 pointers )
Gasol also will be more of a presence defensively then boozer was

That said I do hope it only a 2 yr deal at about 20 mil, so they can still add a significant scorer at the 2 or 3 spot.

Im hoping for Stephenson

Dude, can you please stop with the goofy trolling and add to the conversation?

My initial point is that he's not a significant upgrade from Boozer.

Show me that I'm wrong.
How the hell am I a troll? Because I call you out on your lazy comparison? I'm sorry but production doesn't make them the same player. The easiest and most obvious was mentioned to you already, his size. His length will come in handy in the playoffs, unlike that screaming tree stump, Boozer. Pau better footwork, better post game and passer. Upgrade at a cheaper price.

Because the vast majority of your contribution to the board consists of.......trolling.

I just want you to engage in serious conversation ever so often. I think that you have it in you, Anytime23.

I want to be challenged by you & others, not trolled.

If you were unsure about my comparison, you should have simply asked for clarification.

Now we're talking, Anytime 23  .

This is a fair point!

Upgrade at a cheaper price.
I believe Taj would have been ok, as well.

It's for 6.5 mil a year,shit, that's pretty great. More than 10 i'd say fuck no.

I voiced my concerns with Gasol, but the price is important.

I would argue that Gasol is similar to Boozer in some ways, but he's better offensively and a great passer. Also bigger, meaning he can play the 4 or 5. Boozer couldn't.

And Boozer's contract sucks cock, Gasol for 6.5 mil a year, doesn't suck cock.

You guys need to be careful though. Gasol had a good year no doubt, but the Lakers were horrible last year. Scoring was all over the place, and since Kobe was hurt, Gasol was the featured player on the lakers(well there's swaggy p but Gasol is better overall)

Per 36:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/boozeca01.html

32 yr old Boozer 17.5 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 76 games played last season

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/gasolpa01.html

34 yr old Gasol 19.9 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 60 games played last season

I truly hope that he's simply one domino that falls before we complete this off-season. We need guys that can create with the ball in their hands.

Yeah numbers. Here's what to watch for, in GAME 1 he rotates from the weak side to cover the lane. That will be one more time than happened than in 4 years with Boozer. Thibs will smile.

fortunately

Ariza only plays in contract years

I'm surprised with how much love this guy's been getting. He's been very mediocre his entire career.
