Stopped reading after the second paragraph which ended with "or claim to be [all about winning]".

Can't spell Carmelo without "me". Glad the bulls didn't sign him.

We'll see what Phil can do, but yes, I don't really think he can work so much magic there. I guess we'll see though.

Not trying to be salty or anything because I don't blame him for choosing the knicks, but melo really seems like a little ho. Hopefully Mirotic is as good as everyone is saying and Pau is a solid upgrade from Boozer. Then we can beat the brakes off the knicks and the heat when its time

Carmelo Anthony Took $6M Less In Salary, Re-Signs With Knicks For $123M --

Wow. What a nice guy.

Leaves them enough room for a max contract next season and a decent role player assuming Carmelo's contract is backloaded.

Unless LeBron wants to bolt after one year I really don't see a max player worth getting out there.

LeBron isn't doing that to Cleveland again.

Well he does have the option to

I doubt that he would though...I think he's going for money and PR now
Yeah the two year deal was because of the expected bump in income from the next TV deal in 2016. He'll cash in on a larger long term contract at that time..Though I dont know if Cleveland will have bird rights yet or not on that.

Yeah I figure that was the actual reason. Like I said, money is one of his priorities right now. As far as bird rights...early bird rights perhaps? 3 years is usually what you need for full bird rights.

Early bird rights would entitle him to what exactly? Obviously not a full max, but partial?

I haven't a clue. It could just be a request on full bird rights a year early.

EDIT: looked it up. Early bird rights enable a player to be signed at 175% of his previous salary or the NBA average salary, whichever is greater. So yeah, partial max I believe.

Since he already has max he will probably get Max, unless the cap has an enormous jump.

The Bulls could come out for the better but several things have to happen for that to be a reality.

Wonder if Melo has a brother who next year will complain that the Knicks haven't given him a 2nd scoring threat to help him win:)
