Well our future is almost here. It's very close...... Now... Just hope that most can pan out and be the big time they project right now.

No one knows just how good any prospects will be, but it's nice to see signs of things moving along. A lot of exciting news for the Cubs yesterday, imo.

I would bet just about anything that Soler is with the MLB club at least in September.

Kind of funny how Soler has 100 less ABs than Bryant in the minors, yet Bryant needs more time in the minors and Soler apparently has wowed throughout A-AAA so much to deserve a spot on the MLB club.

Soler is on payroll and doesn't go to arbitration. It makes sense to get him on the MLB roster as soon as possible because we're paying him to perform at the MLB level.

And the (Ricketts) don't want to a pay a player whose bat appears to be ready for the MLB level?

It would appear that way, yes. It's rough, man. This playoff run that we're in right now, we really could use an extra bat in this lineup.

Yet again, what makes Bryant bat ready. Stop looking at just stat lines. He is striking out at a rapid rate and his walk rate dropped. He would be a better version of Mike Olt in the majors right now. Let him take his lumps in AAA now. Also, if he stays down all year. He can come up after 2 or 3 weeks next year and Cubs keep a year of control. It makes no sense for the Cubs to bring him up right now.

The MLB draft sucks for American born players. The reality is that Soler is going to be out of options after next year because he was a true free agent upon entering a MLB organization. No draft pick has that freedom which is why he has different status than Bryant and others. Soler has to be ready sooner because otherwise the Cubs could lose him for nothing. Soler needs all the at bats that he can get to make up for time lost due to injury as well and only one place offers at bats during the month of September in organized MLB organized baseball.

Soler is locked into a long-term deal. Not worried about arb clock on him at all.

The way it's looking is that we are going to see plenty of Soler and Baez in September along with Alcantara. Bryant will get his shot in ST of '15. And we could be legitimately breaking camp with 3 of the Fab 5 on our opening day roster + a pleasant surprise in Alcantara. With hopefully seeing Schwarber on the Bryant fast-track + Almora rising to AAA and being a potential late summer call-up as well.

Soler's contract is weird in that it basically guarantees him 30 million dollars, but he can opt out as soon as he hit arbitration (and will since it practically guarantees a raise). However there is an argument to be made that it would be better for Cubs for Soler to hit arbitration sooner when his previous year salary is lower anyway.

It is about dominating at every level, AND about plate discipline.

Right now Soler has both, where Bryant still has a 30% K rate. He has to get closer to 20% to warrant a call up. Alcantra has done and Baez has in the past month or so.

That is a factor. Soler played in world comp at a younger age and that part of the world dedicated into baseball more than other parts of the world that dedicate into education more.

Bryant is very talented but Soler or for that matter any player from that part of the world it is more of a culture and are born into it.

That being said yes Soler has a stronger BB:SO ratio. Which plays into it. But as far as seasoning it is hard to place any Cubs prospect next to Soler.

Soler hasn't been discussed as much as Baez and Bryant. But I am optimistic he will be a stud.

We will see him soon.
