Not going to happen, he's waiting for LA to pick him up. Next year Donovan retires, Omar goes overseas and league adds another DP spot (4). Los Angles will only have ONE DP on the books to start the season JJ will be their second. And I'm sure they already are looking at players to fill their 3rd and 4th spots.

While we are looking for NO players in third division leagues.......

Wouldn't want AEG to be the owners tbh, would prefer we have one that doesn't already own another team and a half.

Just to we get a local owner to buy the team, we need Dollar Menu out as soon a possible.

I wish the Chicago Fire could have a cool owner like Money Ballmer or Sheikh Mansour.

or

Don Levin (Chicago Wolves owner). He put in a bid for the Cubs, so he's got the money to buy the FIRE.

He's into the Seattle NHL race right now too, but not the front-runner.

Wolves have been run very well actually, wouldn't mind it... maybe he could even get us a MASL team with the Fire branding at the Allstate (buy Mustangs?).

http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/66/u...ources-jermaine-jones-deal-with-mls-hits-snag

"Sources have confirmed to Goal USA that Jones has agreed to a contract structure to join the Chicago Fire, but because MLS cannot guarantee that Jones will be allocated to the Fire, contract talks with MLS have hit an impasse, and no contract has been signed."

He prefers Fire if money offered is same. We will see what hapens

Edit:Also, the stupid league getting in our way...like c'mon.

He spent some time in Chicago as a child, so here's hoping MLS doesn't screw up a homecoming.

Can someone make any sense of this and explain. So, he agrees in terms to a contract with the Fire, but the league steps in and says "Hold on there just a second, if you come to the MLS you might end up in New England...who knows"?

Like, what? Either let him sign with who he wants or if your going to pick his team let him know which team he will end up in? Like what the hell is this lol.

Revs announced that they are having an announcement at half-time in Portland against Seattle, looks like they got Jones.

"The Chicago Fire Soccer Club has pursued Jermaine Jones as a free agent signing over the past month and a half, and have gone to great lengths to bring him into Major League Soccer and our organization. We thought that he'd be a great fit in Chicago,” said Yallop.

“While we’re deeply disappointed that he will not be a part of the Fire, we respect the system employed by MLS and wish Jermaine well with his new club. This result does not alter our vision of building a complete side and we’ll continue to move forward with this process as planned.”

Seems Jones wanted to play here more than in NE. As much as I appreciate the single entity system to prevent financial collapse and promote parity, Garber has to loosen up the strings a little bit and stop playing favorites so much.
