I think the injury really hurt Britton's chances. It gave Ola the chance to step up, and he played well.

I really thought all throughout the preseason that Ola struggled with a lot of inconsistency.
One Drive he'd look awful, and the next, he'd look good.

Maybe the potential good was just too much to pass up.

I like the pickup of Ross for competition.

Bummed we opted not to bring Wilson back and kept Frey. The latter has hit his ceiling.

Glad Louis jean is back. Love his size.

Don't discount britton coming back.

Wow, Frey has for sure hit his ceiling after only 2 years. lol

Curious, how would you say you know this? I mean he was an actual Sunday playing NFL CB last year, his rookie season. Yet he has somehow hit his ceiling, while CJ Wilson, who could not become an active 53 man,let alone game day active 46 man, NFL player in his same rookie season, has superior upside.

How is it you have come to this conclusion?

Keeping my fingers crossed they find a way to hang onto Williams. Also, isn't this Boggs' third NFL season? I don't get how he is PS eligible, but I'm glad he is hanging around.

Question- What are the pros & cons of putting Marguess Wilson on IR reservation to return?

The cons would be that he would be out until at least week 9 regardless of whether or not he is healthy before then. Also you can only you the designated for return IR for one player all season so if someone more valuable were to get injured its either season long IR or count against the roster.

The pros would be that for those 8 weeks he wouldn't cost against the 53 man roster so the Bears could carry another player until they activate Wilson.

To go from training int machine a year ago to.playing totally average during the season to being buried on this summers depth chart to being waived and signed to the practice squad....yea....he hit his ceiling.

Lol. Duh.

I'm on his side with Frey maxing out. It's his third year in the NFL and while he has made some good plays in practice he was a liability when it came to actual game time. Also with the way the NFL is progressing to having monster WR, short CBs like Frey that aren't super fast with absolutely exceptional talent just aren't going to cut it. I can't say that CJ Wilson has superior upside however but at least he put a few INTs on tape rather than just reading about it in a practice report. I really don't know a lot about Wilson other than the few plays he made in preseason.

This.

And Frey is in year 3. Wilson year two.

Keeping Frey over Wilson was a mistake IMO.

Wow, he had a great preseason last year against 2nd stringers. An average year last year was not so bad. But that being the case, you still have not told us why he can't get better. duh, it's way too early to come to this conclusion. He is on the PS because the coaches feel he can improve.

Yeah, keeping an aging player coming off of a major surgery was a sure thing. I will trust our coaches.

I am really curious why we have not heard anything about what happened with Chris Williams. I know he was injured and all but he still seemed the better KR than Spurlock Anyone think that maybe they are going to bring him back after putting Wilson on IR? I have looked around and I can't even find a comment from Bears Officials what happened with him.

Seemed better based on what? They gave him a bit of a go in game 4 and nothing he showed, demonstrated he is better than a guy who has done a good job of it multiple places in an NFL career.

All I have to go on is media reports......reports from people at training camp...etc. Those attending TC said Williams was much quicker and faster than anyone else as KR. What really suprises me is I can't find a word about him since being cut.

I must have seen only the bad plays on Ola. He looked pretty week to me against decent defensive ends.

I actually really like how the PR shaped up.

A number of players on the PR look like they could provide depth this season, Frey and Boggs.

I think that there are some players who could develop into more than PR players in the future, Louis-Jean and Bellamy.
