Known fact that using a cutter tends to make you lose mph on your fast ball. That is 1 issue.

2nd issue is he lacks a out pitch. Hard slider or a split etc.

He has a change but it is not a solid pitch and it is used primarily against LH.

His make up is basically a unproven Feldman. Or a league #4 SP. If he had a fastball around 95 and a out pitch he would be TOR. More like Shark. Shark didn't have a strong Slider but he used a 97 FB with a cutter/split combo for success.

Bosio has taught some pitchers new pitches. I wouldnt count him out yet. His upside is more then Feldman.

I want to be clear that my post that brought this line of discussion was not intended to discount his potential as a starter.

AAA PC was the one that fixed Arreta. Bosio lets Castillo call the games.

What really matters is executing pitches and watching video to see how the league is pitching to each hitter. What works and what doesn't.

Until he develops either a trick pitch or his FB moves up a few MPH I wouldn't lock him into next year.

Bottom line is did Bosio fix Jackson?

Was Wood able to sustain last year?

No

You can not substitute talent. I feel Bosio gives each pitcher the tools to suceds but it is up to each pitcher to do it.

Fujikawa is horrible. Theo and them swung and miss twice on closers. Might as well stay in house now.

Baez needs to stop thinking at the plate and hit. He is out of wacks compared to when he was swinging in AAA. He is letting go balls he use to crush. Missing fastballs he doesnt miss and swinging at pitches just to swing. His head is all over the place. He needs to calm himself and do what is natural to him.

This whole team got out of whack the last week or so..

A shame they were looking like a decent team, then they lose Rizzo, Castro, and went to a 6 man rotation and look worse now then they did in April

The brass has seen pretty much all they need to see. No one is going to turn heads in this line-up for the remainder of the year, and the FO have seen plenty of flaws to point them in the right direction to try and fix it.

People were hoping for them to stay hot. To me, they showed enough of what they can and cannot do. Now it's up to the players to make adjustments, and it's also up to the FO to get them the help they need to succeed.
