What is with all the 'adult oriented' sigs and profile pics? Is there some kind of contest? I don't want to be prude, but my young kids are starting to get into football (Da Bears!) and I am not comfortable with some of the pics. I am not trying to complain, I really enjoy this message board and I am thankful to have a place to go share and vent about Bears football, I guess I am just wondering how this trend started and if there is a point to it?

Click on settings for your account then find 'General Settings' on the left hand side.

Scroll down until you see 'Thread Display Options.'

You can disable signatures, avatars or all images if you want to.

As others mentioned, probably best if you just disable sigs and avatar pics on your account.

CCS is independently owned and run.... it is much more lax than the old CBMB and for that I am thankful.

This site is certainly not PG rated....

Very good point, sir. The filth around here is reprehensible.

We really should have a subcommittee for the promotion of vice and the prevention of virtue, or something.

I personally have sigs and avatars turned off so I don't see a lot of the "filth" myself. If you have a major problem with any of them (Some are more "adult" than others) you can report it and the staff will figure out if that member should remove it or not (or place them in spoiler tags).

In addition, I"m moving this to the announcement forum

Thanks for the info. - I love checking out the boards and sometimes my kids walk in and start talking to me - don't want them to question why I've got half naked women all over the screen. Made it simple for me - thanks again.

Not sure if calling someone the board leader and then asking if they could be swapped for another board leader is really an attack per se. Dude was harmless anyway.

Ot, sort of _ is posting an off colour photo in the donator forum, then posting the link in spoiler tags in a regular forum frowned upon?

As long as there is no nudity or sexual act, then it should be okay. I'm sure there are a few other items that might fall into the category of 'use common sense' that might even be considered bad in spoiler tags.

Donor forum is not indexed by google, so of course a lot more is tolerated there, but that doesn't mean it's a harbor for terrorists to plan their moves, and post nudes of other posters, child porn or anything disgustingly violent. Someone that wants to test the elasticity of the site rules is basically telling us they don't want to be here to contribute, just get a rouse out of trolling.

I should hope not. I don't think you're implying these are the reasons for my asking.

On another note, have you guys considered a junk forum that is inaccessible like the bar or donator forum to throw redundant or ridiculous posts in, rather than the merging, which can end discussion because it gets so garbled?

We have that right here.

Joke's aside, I don't know about a junk forum. Ideas are easy, execution of ideas, now that is a different story.

Lol, I have been to several forums that have a forum called something like "The Bit Bucket" or "The Pork Factory" that is only available to members, and is where redundant, useless, ridiculous posts, or flamewars are banished to. Seems to work well, clearing up the main forum, keeping conversation coherent, but still allowing members a certain freedom.

Ideas are all these are Crys.

Maybe. I've been running forums and bbs since the 80s, and a solution that works on one site, doesn't always work on another.

So, what I'm getting is that the implementation might be too difficult, and you feel this idea wouldn't work here. Fair enough.

This was not a shot at the way things are run here.
