Certainly looks like this guy will be the new Bollig.

Just hope he's better at, ya know, hockey.

Mashinter all but locked up a roster spot on Monday, when the Blackhawks put fellow enforcer-types Cody Bass and Pierre-Cedric Labrie on waivers. Quenneville wouldn’t quite say that Mashinter’s a lock, but ever since the Hawks traded Brandon Bollig to the Flames on draft day, he’s made it clear he wants someone in that role. At 6-4, 220 pounds, Mashinter provides that, but also has 23 games of NHL experience with the Sharks, and scored 14 goals in 47 games with Rockford last year.

So does that leave Morin on the outside looking in? Only other spot up for grabs could potentially be Steeger in a cap move right?

10/19/81
88/91/20
23/65/29
28/16/11

Where does Mashinter fit into this?

I would prefer to see Steeger moved but I dont think he creates enough cap room. I did notice a trove of young D men getting sent down to Rockford already so maybe we are keeping Leddy and Oduya

It's almost impossible to do any real roster projections until the Hawks make the trade that gets them under the cap.

Everything else is just guesswork.

I can see each Morin, regin, and Mashinster having rotations on a line spot.

Anything big and strong to help Bickell and Seabrooke enforce is excellent.

Bollig mainly just ran his yapper non-stop....less instagating, more enforcing please.
