So hard to have any coherent thoughts about the upcoming season when you know that 1 or 2 players currently with the team won't be there. Get on it, Stan.

Sure sounds like Leddy is the one that's going to be dealt.

Chris Kuc Chicago Tribune Hawks beat writer.

Mark Lazerus is another beat writer and is good as well.

Yeah some interesting quotes about Leddy today.

He's going to flourish somewhere...if partnered better.

I do NOT like them moving young talent.....

unless they're getting high draft picks or better young talent in return.

To be fair, they'd have to pay him next year anyways, right? He'll be a UFA.

May as well expedite the process and keep the core in tact for one last go--round.

Hell be an RFA after this season I believe its Oduya that its UFA. At least Leddy should bring a decent return with multiple suitors. As much as I dont like giving up young talent I think he is replaceable long term.

ideally rosivald is the one who's dumped.....but not sure anyone wants him

next in line would be oduya, leddy or versteeg........not sure anyone wants versteeg, not sure anyone wants oduya's salary and ufa status next year......leddy's been the guy all along....and while it sucks that he's only 23, it sounds like we have a few young puck moving offensive minded defenseman waiting on the wings so hopefully we replace leddy with a similar player (and get a decent return)

This will be unpopular but if we do choose to loose Leddy I think its the right choice. We are replacing him with a hockey player, not a figure skater. Its the right move.

Leddy can go. He had enough chances on a stacked team to prove his worth and couldnt push himself off the third pairing. Sure, the Hawks take a drastic drop in speed and skating, but thats all he brought to the table. Whatever team trades for him will find out soon enough he is still a work in progress who cant take any type of physicality to play his style of game. I laughed when he was pointing a finger at Rozi and Brookbank, both of whom covered his defensive lapses when he went on a figure skating tangent. I can recall maybe five games last year wherec he was head and shoulders that much better then his partner. On a team thats trying to win a Cup, thats not good enough. Fuck him. The Islanders can have his soft play.

And for anybody who thinks Oduya goes before Leddy, heres one fact that seems to go over head- you dont trade top four defenseman on a team trying to win a fucking Cup.

Well, Leddy isn't going to the Islanders. They just picked up Johnny Boychuk from Boston.

Just got the tweet. Thats an awful lot to give up for Boychuk. Makes me wonder what the price is for Leddy as i would have been more then happy with two high second rounders and a cnd 3rd.

Stans asking for a first. Good for him. IDK if he gets it tho.
