if we can get a upgrade for Dunleavy then yeah trade him

but not for a late first...while value wise thats a good deal it doesn't make sense for a "win now" team

if the Nuggets dont get it together by deadline i say put in a call for Arron Afflalo or Wilson Chandler

I think that'd be a great move for us if we got either player

So, update.

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...rious-talks-sacramento-kings-coaching-vacancy

Kings in talks with George Karl which imo is the best thing to happen for our chances at this pick other than retaining Cousins and Gay long term. Karl's system is like Phoenix with more passing, and will give them a competitive edge against tired teams in the grind. I like the move for them with a young team, and I think they are one player away from being a playoff team, in addition to the fact that there are free agents that may wish to play for Karl.

I hope it happens. Does it get us the pick this year? The Kings have to finish 11th or higher in one of the next 3 seasons.

Before Karl, the Kings are:

1.5 games behind Denver, Indiana (who are rising with returning players), and 2.5 behind Boston and Detroit.

Perhaps catching New Jersey is more realistic after they do something stupid at the trade deadline, and they swap out with Indiana. I predict Sacramento will finish 8th-10th, but next year will be a great hope of getting the pick if they have Karl full season and try to win the off-season because of that. To finish 11th they need to catch 4 teams.

Fingers crossed for this year, hope for next year.

And since you didn't mention it, they would be picking at #6 as of today. With Cousins becoming disgruntled, which I predicted, and Gay being a FA and Karl coming aboard, I could see a run THIS year. But yes, I don't see the Bulls not getting this pick eventually.

So from I'm gathering ... if this Kings pick is not in the Top 10 (Meaning #11 or lower) then the Bulls get the pick.

The Bulls also have a swap option with Cleveland, which means if they finish ahead of Cleveland they could exercise the option and move up in the draft. Currently that doesn't really matter and my guess is won't matter unless Cleveland starts slumping again.

Gay signed an extension already.

Cousins is always disgruntled.

If it ain't Okafor or Towns, do you really care?

Cousins is always disgruntled.

Saw a lowlight a couple of days ago. Cousins see a pass over him to his open guy and he doesn't move an inch. He just lets the guy catch the ball and dunk it wide open. He then just shrugs his shoulders and walks down the court. He really REALLY sucks as a professional athlete.

The Kings are 4 back in the win column of the 11th spot(Detroit). They have the sixth worst record in the NBA right now. You can only hope they pick up a few upsets over the next few weeks along the way. And they outplay other bad teams. They have to be slightly better than whoever misses the playoffs in the East at the 9 spot for The Bulls to get the pick this year.

Lottery could screw them though too if if it spits out they get the 11th-14th pick. The lotto sometimes confuses me so that's a possibility right?

EDIT.

Looked it up. Looks like they have to "catch" Boston so to speak. Once they have the 9th worst record the pick as a "slight" chance of being outside the Top 10

Yeah but they can get to 11th easily.. all they have to do is pass up all the East bottom dwellers which they're 2 games back from at the moment.

Hopefully.

If you get to 11 though you're likely just outside elite guy territory. Could grab Cliff Alexander a little higher than projected.

Maybe Myles Turner falls to you.

Sucks that pick is top 10 protected

Its hard to get an unprotected pick now a days.

I miss Isaiah Thomas and his gift giving ways.
