I think this actually makes sense and could work. Start the drive with a standard 3 wide play, then on the second play go no huddle and have Bennett and Forte out wide. Forte is an excellent receiver, so there would almost certainly be a mismatch somewhere.
Well that's kinda the point...people keep saying dumb shit like he can't read 3 WRs so what makes you think he can read 5...
But it's a lot easier to scheme to cover 3 guys than 5... And if you run 2 guys deep on opposite sides of the field that takes away the safeties or leaves our players 1 on 1... I doubt that goes on very long without getting exploited....
Again the concept isn't to get Marshall 1 on 1 every time... Sometimes you might wanna run Marshall and Jeffery deep and across the middle and run a drag route with forte underneath to see if he can get to the edge and burn the linebacker up the sideline... Holmes too... And Bennett while not too speedy has shown he's a tough tackle and elusive...
Plays should be designed to get all these guys into space...
Again it's not necessarily about reading a defense but designing a play for a specific player to get him open and with an extra second to get his eyes up field and accelerate...
