i do it if he signs an extension. not giving up anyone for a 1 year rental. the yanks i assume would be in the 3 way deal that would send ramirez to the yanks for some or one of they players on the yanks that oakland wants plus something from us. it would be too hard as billy beane gave up too much to get shark so he may try to make up for that gaffe.

it all depends on what they want. beane has been known to love certain guys that we all think suck and he gets the most out of them. the russel deal still makes me think that beane knows a little more about that kid than the top 100 specs think. i was shocked at the deal when it happened but more thinking is he knows something.

Shark would look nice as a #2 behind Sale (or #3 split between Sale, Q, and/or Rodon), but I wouldn't go above 20 million per year.

i want shark. he has given more than a sample size and if he can be extended and not get paid scherzer/lester money the front 3 in the rotation would be sick. it all depends on what we give up though.

He's good, but not great.

He's going to either cost too much for a rental, or if we extend him he won't be worth what he's asking.

PASS.

IF they trade for him it will be a huge mark against Hahn's record.

i think you are over analyzing. if a deal is made lets see the details.

i prefer sonny gray but last year between the cubs and As his slash: 2.99era,219 IP,202 Ks,126era+, 3.20 FIP, 8.3 k9. I mean that is impressive even if he was a cub which imo i think you may be stuck on.

I have no hang up on him being a Cub.

He did pitch well in the AL for Oakland, but its sample size, and Oakland is probably the third best pitchers park behind San Diego, and Seattle.

How will he fare pitching half his games in the American League at U.S. Cellular Field?

Is 2014 the real Shark? Or was 2013?

I don't like to overvalue prozpectzz because most are busts, but we seem to actually have something for once (Montas, Danish, Anderson, Johnson) I would like to see how that works out.

theres talks of simien as well in the deal. we will see. to me i want him but i dont want to give up aram for him and hell no to tim anderson unless there is an extension. lets see if it even happens. remember this isnt a KW type move as it seems its hahns MO.

A potential rotation of
sale
shark
quintana
danks
rodon

could be pretty damn solid.

still need a LF.

if we can get a LF bat with a RHP starter I will believe in this franchise again.

You have to know he's signing an extension and that won't be easy. He supposedly turned down 5/85 from the Cubs and I just heard them talking on The Score this morning about how "he's not just gonna take a deal for 4 or 5 years and 18 or 19 million a year".

He'd be a great fit on the Sox though. Just to throw out some numbers, I'd say if you could pull off 5/100, do it.

I'm not too familiar with your guys' farm system, but Ramirez surely can't be enough for Shark, right? What prospects do you think the A's want in return?

semien...but arams contract is soooo friendly for his skill set.

do i want shark? yes. do i want to give up a big haul for a 1 year rental? no....not unless the sox go all in on a LFr. im ok with a contract shawnometer brought up when you see the insane contracts that are out there for SPs.
