No, most people get it. This team has been horrible at drafting dating back to the Angelo and the roster is void of homegrown talent. Therefore we have to constantly dip into free agency and blah blah blah. No shit Sherlock!

The thread title is a poor choice on the day after last nights albatross. So yes.....fuckoff

No you don't get it... Because we keep believing we can turn our team around with old free agents and late round draft picks...

This team has been overachieving for over a decade... Yes overachieving... Thanks to defensive stars Urlacher Tillman Briggs this team hid a lot of flaws... Maybe that was the worst thing for the franchise...

That's what star players do. They compensate for a team's shortcomings. The Packers would be fucked without Rodgers. But they have him, so they aren't.

But you're right. The worst thing for this franchise was to get star players like Urlacher that led them to a Super Bowl. That 2006 season was fucking miserable with all those wins. Especially the playoff ones.

But he never won a SB and got fired for it. The players he liked didn't do enough ala no depth etc.

Everyone gets fired eventually in the NFL. Angelo hung around for a decade because he made some good moves. But when those good moves stopped coming, so did his paychecks.

Emery has time yet to prove himself through the draft.
Trestman was a risky choice that seemed like a winner if it weren't for the defense.
But now Trestman seems exposed and if he wants to keep coaching he needs to chop some heads.
Tucker has shown us nothing at all except how to fail "historically".

I dont think most people saw us being this bad before the season started

We wanted to buy into Emery, we wanted to buy into Trestman, anydany dissenting opinions there were in the minority

We had major holes at LB and S going into this season, plus a career pathetic DC coming off a historically bad season, and all of our free agent signings seemed to be focused completely on shoring up the run defense with no regard at all for pass defense aside from a washed up overpaid former great (Jared Allen). I don't think anyone expected much more than they got from this defense.

ST wasn't much better last year, and we did nothing to improve in that aspect, in fact we lost one of the best KR in the history of the game. No surprise that our D/ST suck.

But, as bad as I, and many other posters, thought Jay Cutler was, he has proven to be much worse than we ever dreamed. I see guys getting open, but Jay won't even look in their direction. I see pressure and Jay is too focused on some receiver that he's staring down on the sideline to step up in the pocket. Defenses just roll their coverage to where Jay is looking, and he hasn't figured out how to look off coverage, pump fake, hit receivers in stride, with room to run, etc. This is like watching Grossman all over again. High hopes, flashes of dominance, but ultimately unable to sustain success once defenses study film and figure out his glaring weaknesses. If he hasn't figured it out by now, he never will. Cut the bum.

Would like to see Emery get another chance with a defensive minded coach and a new QB. I think he has done a good job in the draft, which is the hardest thing to do. But the huge mistake he made in signing Cutler to a massive contract might be enough to end his tenure in Chicago.

ND is horrible.
....had questions at DT also tbh. A guy entering his mid 30s coming off a handful of games, some risky draft picks and a 6" 285lbs guy who hadn't flashed much at all, isn't being solid at the position.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  2. Villanova Wildcats
As for Sojka's signature:
Jeffery is #3 in Bears all-time receiving yards, and 9th in TDs.
