I'd still hire the guy as player/manager. He can pinch hit a bit. He's probably the smartest player the Sox have ever had. Chicago loves the hell out of him. If Pete Rose could be a good player manager so could AJ

Barring an upgrade, the catchers are Flowers, Brantly & Kottaras, with the latter battling as the backup.
I hate the thought of another season of Flowers but Hahn can't fix everything in the offseason.
Though maybe, he'll give us Sox fans a miracle and land us an upgrade behind the plate.

exactly. the whole 4 games is a PR thing for the city and the meatballios. we have to take care of our division opponents that we face all year long if we expect to win anything. i take no stock in the crosstown series. it lost its flavor after we won the WS than both teams being bad after that was icing on the cake.

If they can't trade Viciedo for someone worthwhile, I want the guy to have three gloves for this team, Outfield, 3B, and 1B. I do not want the Sox to shit can this guy who averaged 20 home runs in his career thus far and is 25 years old. If they get fair value for him then so be it, but I think that he was a whipping boy for a team which wasn't very good offensively in the first place.
