CWS Freddy Garcia, RHP (1-2, 5.28) @ MIN Kevin Slowey, RHP (4-2, 3.93)

White Sox: As the team's fifth starter, Garcia has been as consistent as any member of the White Sox rotation aside from John Danks. Garcia gave up just two runs on 10 hits over six innings in his last start, against the Royals, to pick up his first victory of the season. The win helped Garcia avoid an 0-3 start for the first time in his career. Garcia fanned four and didn't issue a walk, throwing a mere 84 pitches before giving way to the bullpen. Garcia took the loss in his only start this season against the Twins, but he gave up just two runs on three hits over seven innings. Garcia has a 9-6 career record with a 3.76 ERA against the Twins.

Twins: Slowey helped the Twins complete a sweep of the Tigers on Wednesday, improving his record to 4-2. In the game, Slowey pitched 5 2/3 innings and gave up three runs. All of his earned runs came off solo home runs, but he had the support of the Twins' bats to produce enough hits to hold off the powerful hitting Tigers. Before that game, Slowey hadn't given up more than one home run this season. In total, Slowey gave up seven hits in the game and walked two batters. He also had three strikeouts.

CWS John Danks, LHP (3-1, 1.98) @ MIN Carl Pavano, RHP (3-3, 3.43)

White Sox: Danks will hope for a little more run support in his next trip to the hill, as he gave up two runs over seven innings on Thursday against Toronto, only to get the hard-luck loss when the offense was shut out. Six starts into the season, Danks has turned in five quality starts and has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his six starts. Danks' first start of the campaign was against the Twins, as he went six innings and gave up two runs -- one of them earned. That got him a no-decision. The southpaw is 4-5 lifetime against the Twins with a 5.13 ERA. Even though Danks has started against the Twins more frequently than any other team in his career, this is his first start in the brand-new Target Field.

Twins: Pavano suffered some tough luck in his last start against Baltimore last Thursday. The Twins veteran right-hander pitched eight solid innings and gave up just two runs, while striking out eight Orioles batters. Pavano's lone mistake of the outing was a hanging breaking ball that went for a two-run homer in the 2-0 loss. Pavano yielded six hits and three walks in throwing 97 pitches against Baltimore. Since the Twins had an off-day Monday, Pavano should be well rested pitching on five days' rest when Minnesota welcomes the Chicago White Sox to Target Field.
