I still think Raanta should spend some time in Rockford.

EDIT

Raanta for 750k aav and Smith for 1.5. Both for 2 years. Not too shabby.

I like Smith. Motor is always running, good on the boards, goes to the net, looks for contact. Hard not to appreciate his game. Raanta I'm okay with as well.

Going to be nice only paying your starting goalie $750k! Frees up the cap room needed to re-sign Kane and Toews.

Can't wait to finally ship out the overpaid, unproven sieve that is Corey Crawford.

Cue the Rex Signal.

Puts the Hawks just above $68M with 21 guys signed.

-$2M (or $2.7M)... $66M. +5M... roughly $71M.

Not so far-fetched. All that matters is whether or not the Cap is actually going to be $71M.

It's insane that still don't know the cap number.

Morin also with 2 year extension

Details to follow....

Getting paid for two years to not play... good deal for Morin.

What I expected for Smith, Raanta a bit lower, which is good.

300k raise for Morin. Not bas as long as he can see some more icetime.

Agree, don't think Morin has gotten a fair chance at making/sticking on the roster at this point. Will take more than a handful of games spread out over 4 seasons.

Keep Morin in Chicago and away from Rockford.

He is a complete selfish tool down on the farm.

We nicknamed him "Moron" towards the end of the season from his play.

Well, not playing Morin played into ensuring that he can be retained and be a NHL regular\

platoon guy next season.

As far as the Cap, it has been reported that Bettman is supposed to let the owners and agents know the cap level before the start of the draft.

Ben Smith rules. injuries set his full development back a little and he is just hitting his stride again. Last season was just a small sample of what this kid is about and what he can do. Just get that damn #28 off his back please..that's the right thing to do for everyone even though Smith plays like larmer did around the net. I could see Smith posting good numbers next season if allowed to break away from the 4th line a little more even though i really like him there. He and Kruger have a good thing going for fourth liners.
