Figured this would be big enough news for a thread.

NHLN reporting both get 8 years $88 million.

But Twitter hasn't reported it yet so take it with a grain of salt.

so they ask for 12, and we negotiate it down to 11.

It's not confirmed yet and I can't find it anywhere else so hold your horses.

Stan's crystal ball must have cap in the 75 to 85 million range and higher the next 8 years.

Yeah but how does that help now if they are a 11 mil hit?

too high let em walk. they should get nothing more than 5 per year. throwing that kind of money around for talent barely works..band aids.

pay them by how many minutes both will be icing and they would probably get over 15 mill each. esp with no center depth and hossa on the rw depth reaching his downward spiral and his eight injuries a year. 11 mill each for guys that will carry the load of the offense is a bargain.

11 million? Nope. I agree let them walk. Say good bye to a good competitive team. We will be turning into Penguins 2.0.

If that were true, we'd have 2 million left over if the cap doesn't go up, for 15 skaters. Jesus, StanBo is fucked.

Waiting for confirmation...

On a side note, Spezza is off the market, traded to Dallas.

If $11mil/per is true that would be a soul crushing blow to the Hawks. They would have to let them walk and both sides would be right. I would demand hazard pay too if I was either one of them playing unprotected year in and year out. God I hope this isn't true.

Now that all the quality center are off the market again I guess we can pretty much count on TT playing next season so that's cool. Should help the cap situation big time.

was bound to happen. at least the hawks won two cups before it all ended. next time dont shit the bed for ten years and collect so many god damn high draft picks and force yourself to hand out huge contracts to one of the best centers and one of the best rw in the league. and fuck keith while we are at it.

hawks will be fine they need to lose hossa sharp and seabs within the next couple of years and stop trading away prospects for junk like regin. maybe actually let a few prospects play here and there also and dont worry so fucking much about the character of a 21 year old...unless that kid is kane then you allow him to be a douchebag for a few years until he matures.
