Other than that he had a lot of beer that he enjoyed immensely.. Also bought some very rare beer he won't open for years or some shit like that.

desbro, he probably put it away to age it. beers can change their flavor profiles and benefit from aging just like wine. i have a number of beers aging, some are around 5 years. every time i buy a 4 or 6 pack of a big beer that can handle aging i put one away. then i crack one open every once in a while.
anyway, the most recent beer that i ve had that I hadnt had before was sierra nevadas black ipa, which was also my first black ipa. im not too sure about the style, its kind of redundant as the best way i can describe iis it was like a hybrid of a ipa and a porter but really not as good as a solid traditional ipa or porter. and the name given this style bugs me... "black ipa," how the fuck can you have a black pale ale? why not call them dark india ales? or black india ales? before that I think i cracked open a Belgian i had aging for 3-4 years.

Drinking Westbrook's Gose. It is a pretty amazing Gose, light, tart, great light summer brew.

Solid beer. Lil sumpin extra is good too. My favorite of theirs is Sucks IPA.

Does Lagunitas make a bad brew? Tried Equinox Pale Oat Ale. It was tasty. Also a Weihanstephnaer Dunkel Hefeweissen. Also tasty.

Ate at BJ's Brew House in Corpus Christi over the weekend. The pizza was meh. I tried the house IPA, also meh. Then washed it down with Newcastle Brown Ale. Doubt I'll go back. I see it is a national franchise. Anybody else try this place?
