Why yes, Ben Gordon is a better 3 pt shooter than Kirk.
First, I would like to give a hearty congratulations to the great KIRK HINRICH, for being the new ALL-TIME leading Bull in three point shots made, taking over the spot previously held by Ben Gordon. I would just like to point something out.
- It took Kirk 2043 attempts to hit 773 three pointers, to beat Ben Gordon's record. That is a 37.8% clip, over 7 seasons.
- Ben Gordon, in this 5 seasons in Chicago had 771 three pointers in only 1856 attempts. That is a 41% clip.
Even Kirk downplayed his achievment:
"(The record) is just a tribute of being here so long (seven seasons).
"I don't feel like I shoot a lot of 3s; I just try to take them when they are available."
I just wanted to throw that out there....CONGRATS KIRK!
Why yes, Ben Gordon is a better 3 pt shooter than Kirk.

While it may have taken Kirk a few more shots to get there, on the other end of the
floor, Ben was giving up wide open shots. Kirk is in this league for several reasons.
One, he plays great defense and two, he can run the offense without the thought that
he has to shoot every time he touches the ball.
Congrats Kirk.
Beatings will continue, until moral improves!

I don't think anyone ever said Kirk shouldn't be in the league. I would take Ben Gordon still any day over Kirk. Even though Kirk's shooting has been good the last few games.
Basically people overrate Hinrich's defense and overrate Gordon's lack of defense.
And I don't think Gordon had to shoot everytime he touched the ball.

Not sure how that translates into Gordon being a ballhog as folks like Neil Funk would have you believe.
Maybe if it was Gordon taking 19 shots and Rose was getting only 12 and everyone else under 10. But that seemes pretty balanced to me.
With that said, Hinrich is the 3-point chap as Mark calls him. So congrats to the chap!

Poor little oppressed kirk might get some more respect around here if he could use his grit and good work effort to muster up more than 10 or 11 ppg anytime during the last 3 years. Even without that his intangibles make up 110ppg.
The Chicago Bulls: It was a business move!
Admittedly, i might have ben a little harsh. For the record, i like kirk. i jiust want him a much smaller contract.
You made a Kirk vs Ben comparison, you got a drone to respond. To rip off Sham's trade deadline article, "Congratulations, I guess."
FWIW, I don't think anyone reasonable is going to mistake Kirk for being a better shooter than Ben, anymore than anyone will think Kareem is a better scorer than MJ on the basis that he holds the points record. Volume records are about longevity, half the achievement is just sticking around for long enough to set them.

Everyone acts as if hinrich is the best defensive player of all time.
thebulls defense doesn't depend on hinrich. he's a scrappy player, but the bulls have a lot of good defenders on the team.
luol deng shuts down the top sf whenever the come over. melo an lebron have a hard time against deng. also ,he's a good rebounder. he's not that great on athletic smaller 3's, but pretty damn good against the top sfs in the game.
With that said, noah is the best defender on this team. i dont even need to make an argument.

Even on a bum ankle for the majority of the year, with the lowest mpg since his rookie year, & coming off the bench, BG is still averaging more ppg & shooting a better percentage than Captain Scrapheap.
Are you really getting that much enjoyment from BG's misfortune? Are you the type of person that tap dances in front of parapalegics too?

I have worked paraplegics at Loyola hospital and victims of spinal cord injury at the Hines VA.
But it saddens me to know you think about these things.

True, if Ben doesn't want the job then I'll sit on the Pistons bench and pretend I'm happy for Rip Hamilton for half the money.![]()

I don't give a fat baby's d--- if he actually eats a damn basketball every day! His drop in production has nothing to do with his injury, his drop in production is because he is playing behind a better player, which is what I was telling people in preseason. Hamilton is playing good basketball right now and Gordon can't get off the bench, and most of the time when he does, he sucks...point blank. If you want to feel sorry for anyone, feel sorry for Pistons fans who watch Dumars trade away an allstar player for Charlie V and St. Ben of UConn, who combined aren't worth what Billups is worth...The guy eat, sleeps, & breathes basketball. Gordon was a good signing, Charlie V isn't because Charlie V has done nothing in his career to justify making that kind of money. Gordon has been productive on winning Bulls teams.
He's having a bad shooting year, and if you think that has nothing to do with his injuries than your crazy. Early in the season, before the injuries he was putting up his typical numbers. since the injuries, not so much.
And looking at the numbers Rip Hamilton is averaging 3 more ppg on 4 and 1/2 more shots per game and with 6 more minutes played per game.
In this, Ben Gordon's worst FG shooting season, he's still shooting better than Rip from the field and will always shooter better from 3 than Rip, even in his sleep.
It's funny that fans are overreacting to his down numbers. Similar to how Bulls fans overreacted when his numbers went down in the 07/08 year. "Oh what a fool for not accepting that 5-year 50 million dollar deal" well he came back the next year and put up his usual numbers. I would expect him to do the same since he's only 26 and I highly doubt his career has started it's decline yet.

And Hou is profanity & emphatic delivery really necessary to make your point? I know you don't give "a fat baby's d-" about Ben but you don't have to use that EVERY time when making a point about anything. I gives me the impression your screaming at me through your computer like an internet gangsta.
