haha sure the last 2 seasons haven't been great but briggs was a great player at his position made like what 8 pro bowls?

I think Briggs was overrated for most of his time here. After he got paid, he basically stopped giving a fuck.

I seen saurbron play his college career guy was a god at wvu I once watched him punt a 98 yarder I can see why they made the pick just really don't understand how it didn't transfer over to the nfl

It did, just not with the Bears.

Well you do think Forte is better than Anderson so even message board heroes make mistakes :smug:

LOL. Maybe I'm biased because I saw Anderson on the tail end of his career and Forte for all of his, but I'd take Forte all day. Except by the end zone. :D

As for Briggs, prior to 07, Briggs was a motherfucking beast. After that, he had a beast season here and there, but he started missing a lot more tackles, getting fatter, whining about money, and crashing Lambos.

Briggs misses Urlacher. The money situation doesn't bother me honestly

I don't mind anyone making their paper, get what you can while you can. I just hated the incessant whining about it like he was getting paid peanuts. Especially at the end of the second contract when he was talking about "only" making 3.5 mil after he had already made 39 mil prior to that, or something similar.

2008 is an old article.

Forte is close to Neal Anderson but his total yards are skewered because teams throw 200 more passes a season than they used to and he's the only running back on the field. Anderson started out as a fullback alongside Walter and still gained yards. No way you drop off any on the list.

I'd put Roland Harper ahead of Ronnie Bull at fullback.

Brandon Marshall trounces Conway and so does probably Marty Booker.

He wasn't hear long but Greg Olsen was better than Emory Moorehead.

Don't know which Hall of Famer from the 30'-40' to leave off but Jimbo Covert should be there

Trace Armstrong because was nothing. Jim Osborne was solid for bad teams, Wally Chambers short term due to injuries very good, even Alex Brown

I'd put Otis Wilson in before Buffone

Richie Petibone and Roosevelt Taylor were safeties not corners, still on the list over Plank who had a big hitter rep and Carrier who never hit anybody. Bennie McRae and Charles Tillman at CB over Richardson

Buffone was better than Otis Wilson

Wally Chambers was a good as Dan Hampton but career was tainted by injuries

It's like music, where it's always trendy to assume old stuff is better than new stuff. So I'll add a few changes with that in mind.

Offense -
Marshall in for Gault.
Forte in for Anderson.
Jimbo Covert in for one of these old timers from the 30s/40s.

Defense -
Peppers in for Hewitt (no way was some cigarette smoking two-way player from he 30s better than 2010 Julius Peppers.)
Tommie Harris in for Da Fridge.
Briggs in for Buffone.
Peanut in for Richardson

Special Teams -
Hester in for McAfee and Sayers.
Gould in for Butler.

Peppers...are you joking?.

And McKinnon did more for the Bears than Gault.

Yep, and definitely Tillman over Richardson...Mike was the weak link in a great D, those picks were gifts as opposing QB's were being creamed.
