He admits he's going against the grain a bit with his ranking, but the report should be encouraging to Sox fans, as the lineup is the issue that would hold them back, barring any serious pitching injury. He also has Detroit up further on the list, but readily admits uncertainty about them.

Yeah, I am not confident at all in the White Sox being top third. I'll be happy with health

His concern is valid.

Eaton-Melky-Abreu-LaRoche are going to put up solid numbers.
Alexei will be average.
3b Gillaspie) will solid if platooned
Flowers will be low, but that's fine because of his framing/D

The key to all of this is Avisail. If he rakes were in good shape, if he has a down year the offence will struggle.

I'm not sure who you are quoting with that, but it certainly has zero application to me. Absolutely NONE. Do you need that to be clearer so you don't error in that again?

Alexie will be their best solid plus projection at short-stop. Biggest if will be at 3rd and catcher with catcher a certain minus and 3rd average at best but probably below.

Alexei is a shortstop. Alexei is an average hitter if you're comparing him to Miggy Cabrera. He is above average if you compare him to other shortstops.

Alexei's numbers are comparable, if not better in some categories, than Castro, who Cubs fans seem to think is so great.

Wow. No fucking shit, Sherlock.

He is above average if you compare him to other shortstops.

No he isn't. Alexei usually has around a career 91 wRC+, that's pretty below average.

Okay? I don't see how that is relevant at all to the conversation.

Buy because you brought it up Ramirez career 91 wRC+ vs Castro's 98 career wRC+.
Ramirez has the superior defence though, if that makes you feel better.

Ummmmmm You do not win Silver Slugger awards by not being an above average hitter.

We're going by that now? LOL. Now you're just grasping for straws and taking any side I'm against just for an arguments sake. Its pretty childish and I think less of you for it.

For the record Alexei wasn't the best hitting SS in 2014, he was 3rd behind Reyes, and Aybar. He won the award because he hit the most home runs.

2010, sure, stats back that one up.

I think a look at what average means would be beneficial for all sides here.

Alexei was one of the best hitters on the team last year. If you watched Sox baseball last year, you would know that. Career numbers have no contextual relevance, and are only useful for contract negotiations or HOF evaluations.

Being the best hitter on a 73 win team is sort of like winning a cutest farm animal award.

Did he win the Silver Slugger twice in 7 years or not? Is that award given to who is considered the best offensive player at his position or not? Calling him average offensively for a short-stop is just wrong.

Really? I guess that Mr. Cub should have won a lot of those, eh? Where in the hell do you come up with those analogies?

Come-on man. Erick Aybar? Alexi smoked him offensively. Aybar's okay and is a good offensive short-stop but Alexi is the best offensive short-stop in the AL. Besides, you said that he was only "average" offensively. That really is absurd. He is at the top of the heap offensively at his position. Find some other thing to argue.

Um. It wasn't a serious post. Brett got it. You need to take a deep breath every now and then.
