Good move - hope he sends someone else down to get them.

So what's worse? Spending your off season in the DR or in Chicago?

Maybe they'll get a nice ranch in Kansas...

That's really weird because in yesterday's Trib it said he wouldn't be moving his family with him.

Move them to Florida. Less taxes better weather.

Having done both, Chicago is worse by far. Nonetheless, it is safer to raise a family in the U.S. Crime rates in the DR are comparable to Angola in Africa.

So perhaps he's moving them out of the DR to some place safer, but doesn't want them living near him. What's weird about that?

No, the Trib made it clear that his family was NOT moving.

This is from the Trib-

“It’s not easy,” Castro said Tuesday, one day before the Cubs’ first full-squad workout. “All my family is from there. I love being there. I grew up there. I’ve been a professional there. It’s not easy. If it’s better for me (to move), I do it.

That isn't clear he isn't moving at all.

The Cubs and Kinzer have had conversations with Castro about moving from the Dominican Republic and taking residence in Arizona near the team’s facility.

Kinzer is Castro's agent.

CHICAGO -- After being near gunfire on two separate occasions this offseason, Chicago Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro has decided to move his family from the Dominican Republic to Arizona.

And the Cubs think it's the best thing for him.

"Too many problems over there," Castro said. "I have to move. I have to do something so I'm not involved in negative things. I'm not that kind of person.

I have no idea if online is the same as the paper. if I still have it readily available, I'll recheck, but I am almost positive it said his family wasn't moving which is why I commented.
