And probably right back down to the 4th seed after tonight.
Bulls would be wise to just let Russell do his thing, but stop everyone else. They went to overtime last night against Philly after all.

Portland has no shot in the West without Wes Matthews. He's a big part of their success.

Realistically, no. However, Arron Afflalo makes them very dangerous, still. They can do a lot of damage. A lot of people counted the Mavs out when Caron Butler went down and they won it all.

they MIGHT win their 1st round matchup but thatd be at the most. and I don't see that happening either really, its unfortunate bc I like watching them play. but losing Matthews did them in, batum is having a down year shooting the 3 and afflalo, while good, just isn't on Matthews level. right now theyd be matched up with the clippers in the 1st round, I cant see them getting by them honestly

The Bulls fall into 3rd seed as Cleveland moves up by a half game. Toronto sits in 4th a half game behind the Bulls.

Right now everyone is tumbling in the east minus Atlanta, Cleveland, and Indiana.

Miami fell out of a playoff spot (and rightfully so).

Indiana has the best record in the NBA since Feb. 1 and is a top 5 offensive and defensive team since then, as well :smug:

And they don't even have Paul George back :kermit:

Good for them I guess

They are also playing mostly easy teams or the good teams they play have their best players injured (us, Cleveland).

I also don't know what your source is that they're a Top 5 offensive team since Feb 1st.

Their bench is vastly out performing their starters.

That's a problem come playoff time.

My bad. The ESPN stein rankings should be that source

Cleveland with a big win last night over the Spurs.. Solidify their #2 position. Bulls hanging on to #3 as Raptors struggle mightily.

Ah gotcha.. That's pretty good.. Team still has zero chance in the actual playoffs though.

My Pacers fan friend is even saying he doesn't think Paul George returns this year. Ownership just wanted to pump in excitement to get fans to show up and get this team into the playoffs for the extra revenue (short term thinking).

You should tell that to nba.com's conference standings editor.
Ah I see now. I admit wrong. The Lakers/TWolves are eliminated. I mixed up conferences.

The 8th seed in the east has only won 29 games and with the Knicks at 13-51..they could finish the season 31-51 and get that seed lol... However improbable.

That's what I mean. I'm rooting for the Knicks to rip off an 18 game win streak just to see everything go to hell.

edit: I guess a 19 game win streak based on last nights win.

They use magic number. Magic number can be off a lot.

Per team overlap games that play each other in the same hunt / total number games to play Σ games behind

That should be the clinch/eliminated formula, not GB/GP

So let's see if Philly is eliminated. Using the easiest path.
15 games back of #8th seed Miami. 5 teams between them that can overlap games. This means any team that can be within the same number of games that Philly is, within the difference of a perfect storm scenario(one example is Philly wins 15+ games, Miami loses out).

17 games left for Philly. 18 for Miami.

Miami plays one game that has an overlapping game in conflict. So yes, they are technically not eliminated. Magic number is 2.5, real number would be 2 games to eliminate Philly.
