The Bulls' prized rookie has impressed me so far. As Joakim Noah would put it, "He's a stud! Our X-Factor. Floor spacing is very important in this league. Niko can do that very well." The Mirotic secret is out.

Recently he has been making headlines with his stellar play. Can Niko actually win Rookie of the Year? I think he actually can, what do you guys think? He's no normal rookie, he won countless awards a s a professional baller overseas for years! He has many distinct advantages over ALL the rookies, IMHO.

Here's video proof...

If he plays like this the rest of the season, I agree.. Then again I don't even know what other rookies are doing outside of Wiggins and Niko.

Imo the only other one worth mentioning in ROY is Payton. I don't think any other rookies have done anything.

Yeah so much for the "greatest rookie class since 1996" shit. It can still be a great class, but certainly they aren't as rookies.

And Niko wouldn't even fit in this class given he wasnt drafted this season.

i think hes gotta go for Nikola's development

Taj is not really a 5 and Nikola is not a 3 so i don't see a spot

maybe we can still get a decent wing for him

Taj can be had for young pieces (prospects) and a very protected 1st rounder... we're not getting an All-Star or unprotected 1st round pick if thats what you were egging for with him though..

Well he's only got a couple years left anyway. You can always make the argument of letting Niko play the 3 too, just to see if he can develop some more perimeter skills by doing so.

hate Nikola at the 3 it pretty much negates what he brings

don't want to hinder him by forcing him to play out of position

he has flourished at the 4 and has been pretty underwhelming at the 3

I ain't saying do it all the time. You could also argue that playing Taj as an undersized C against the opposing teams backups is also an option.

Nerlens Noel has been a monster on defense. Once McGary got into the rotation and got healthy, he's been playing well. Wonder how Jabari would have looked at this point in the season.

Shoot I forgot about Noel. Yeah he's been rock solid defensively. He's actually putting up decent numbers across the board save FT%. Jabari I expect would be competing for ROY with Wiggins. Hype train if nothing else.

Well he did get a near triple double with blocks once...

I have him on a fantasy team so I know he's putting up those defensive stats. Over a steal and block per

I think Niko has a chance to do some damage in the ROY race going into the final 1/4 of the season, myself. If you look at his and Wiggens stats, Niko is getting half the minutes that Wiggens is. Prorate Niko's minutes, he's right there with Wiggens with double the rebounds.

Wiggens has also played all year on a botton 3 record team that is going nowhere. Niko, however, has had to earn minutes with Pau and Taj in front of him on a potential top 5 record team. With the injuries now for the Bulls, Niko has a chance to hold a good team together for the final 1/4 of the season.

That's a true definition of a valuable player, imo. Niko is still only at 17 minutes a game now. That right there shows you he hasn't had much playing time. Niko is 3rd at his position. Wiggens is the 1 of 2 stars on his team.

To say Wiggens is a lock, imo, is foolish until we see how this plays out. To say Niko won't even be 2nd is absurd, imo.
