.... but not as much as TCD sucks little boys.

Guy is worst on the team with a -10 (next worst is Oduya at -5). He takes stupid ass penalties and rarely is in the right place. The only time he's in the right place is when he's planting his shitforbrains self right in front of the net.

Add him to the list of guys that should be gone after this year.

WELCOME BACK GRIMSON!

Did you just welcome yourself back? Can you even do that?

Shaw is much less annoying to me as a winger than as a center. He can be a solid forechecker as he's not afraid to launch his body into defensemen who are trying to handle the puck.

But if he was traded tomorrow I'd have no issue with it. Easily replaced.

Everyone knows Grim was only gone because he was participating in that show Coaching Bad on Spike TV right?

I heard in his first 1 on 1 session with Ray Lewis he wore a pair of ice skates and one of them spiked WWI helmets and he tried to stab Ray Lewis with the helmet screaming something about Thug Lives Don't Matter.....

I posted Grim's bail Saturday.... coincidence.... I think not.

To be honest, I haven't watched too many Hawks games lately, mainly since I'm trying to take a break from hockey for a bit (coaching burns you out quickly) but I like Shaw as he's a good role player that can help out offensively and brings some grit that this team lacks at times.

It's been too long that boardz battlez n' stuffz has been defended on this board again, I've not got the anti-shaw mentality too much of this year. I think people must of leaped up some expectations to new heights. Its true he often takes dumb penalties, not as much as others, but he also draws the most penalties on the team and at a much better rate than ones he takes. Things like that and actually being good at screening are things I've not gotten why they get overlooked by judging guys.

Shipping him in the off-season is fine, not because of how he is but because of McNeil, Ross, Hartman.. and a little bit Dalhbeck are a bunch that should be able to fill the positive elements up.

Because he was a black hole of puck possession when he was a center and dragged everyone he played with down with him. And right now that's not a problem with the acquisition of Vermette and he's back where he belongs on the wing (and the 4th line), but next season? Probably looking at him playing center again after losing Richards and Vermette and maybe Kruger.

Well if corsi ratings or possession statistics win stanley cups, maybe he's worthless

But fortunately, the game is played on the ice and having someone willing to go to dirty areas, and strong enough/ability to win battles in the corners/boards - which is crucial in the playoffs - he's more valuable than a waif of a player who is a glorious "possession" player. Being able to skate the puck up and down the wings in the neutral is a fantastic stat.

Didn't say he's worthless. But keep going to the extremes to try and make an argument.

But "dragging everyone down with him" isn't extreme?

Was he dragging Kane and Saad down with him in the playoffs last year? Or is that too extreme

Fucking moron

When you have the likes of Kane and Saad on your wings it's pretty tough to fuck that up. And it was a nice line for that series. But that doesn't mean Shaw should be a center. Ever. A lot of that had to do with Handzus being a boat anchor compared to Shaw on that line. Kane just needs a guy that can skate on that line for his center, just an average NHL center and he had that this year and was on pace for the Art Ross and maybe Hart. But when you don't play on a line with that kind of skill on your wings, yeah it's going to show. Like it has this season with Shaw.

He's not worthless, but he's not a center. And he did drag everyone else he played with down with him in puck possession this season. That's not an extreme, that's just what happened.

Shaw played well at center in the playoffs because he was actively getting his body to the net as a good center should do and he took the bumps for the rest of his linemates opening up ice...not fucking rocket science its hockey 101. Yes Kane helped Shaw nobody is stupid to think he didnt but shaw still played his position well enough where the excuse that kane carried him can be lightened. Saad had nothing to do with Shaws playoff success..nothing. Saad had a horrible playoffs until the Kings series so that excuse doesnt hold one bit.

Ever think why shaw didnt have the puck much? Could it be because kane was the guy enlisted to be the puck carrier and the puck possession god as he always is? Good fucking grief. Shaws job was to create space, win board battles draw defenders to him and away from kane and drive the net not to be wayner. He did it very well. That line was never ment to be a cycle line.

Shaw can be an important piece again come the playoffs. Sure his season this year hasnt been his best to date and i havent exactly been thrilled but im not throwing him under the bus yet. We all know playoffs is a different beast and if you dont have guys like Shaw then dont even bother going into the playoffs. He will need to cut his penalty minutes down but still be able to play with an edge. Thats the hardest part for players like Shaw in the playoffs.

Oh and ps kane enjoyed playing with him and stated that shaw helped open ice for him. But why take a players word for it when fans can make up their own make belief story lines?
