What would happen if two teammates dropped the gloves while on the ice together during a live NHL game?

Would it just be a "delay of game" penalty? Would bot guys get fighting majors?

What would the penalties be? I don't think it's in the rulebook.... maybe a team should try it as a diversion tactic?

I think there would be a huge disparity there:

Take last game:

Crawford and Darling throw down. Bowman the Younger comes into net. He needs to add some Depends™ to his goalie equipment as he's shellacked.

Emery and Mason throw down. Hextall comes in. He proceeds to post a shutout and kick the snot out of Carcillo as well as score an ENG.

Think Sakic would go in net? I'd be Roy wouldn't allow it and force Joe to command the bench and skate his plugged ears into the net.

WHat if the players are on the bench when they drop the gloves? Would any penalties be handed out?

Somebody put Raffi Torres, Matt Cooke, and Carcillo on a team, and a line together and see if it erupts.

San Jose has gotten close to that 4th line madness with Burish and John Scott playing together earlier this season. Now Burish is busy rocking out for the Wolves. It's a great way to emphasize something without emphasizing it. Plus, it's one of the Alt+xxxx codes I managed to memorize (I know, I need help).

That and Depends™, for some reason, has been a source of humor for me and my bro since we were kids. I know there are people that really need stuff like that and they wouldn't find it funny, but in the dark recesses of my mind, I can picture Stan Bowman in net facing Ron Hextall, and in the onlslaught he manages to soil himself. But, because he was wearing Depends™, he didn't have to have Crawford's gear extensively laundered, and then McDonut turns that into a marketing opportunity not unlike Bob Dole and Viagra.
