What would it take to move up from 7 to 4?

I feel like we will need to leapfrog the Jets and Redskins to get a top pass rusher. Fowler is likely going to the Jags. That will leave Washington and new York ready to take Beasley and Ray. That is a very likely scenario.

Meanwhile, Oakland sits at 4, ready to take Kevin white or Amari Cooper; Both will be there at 7. This is 3 spots, and it's not like it's for pick 1 or 2. What would Oakland want for compensation?

Yes, we would lose a pick, but if it's for the next great pass rusher, it's worth it.

It probably just cost us next year first and a swap. I figure the first we have next year will be looked at as top 10 pick.

All depends on how bad they wanna move down and what offers they have. If they desperate they probably take this year 2nd.

I really doubt they trade up.......between the 2-3 OLB's they most likely covet and 2 WR's and possibly a QB but really hope not there is no real reason to trade up and give up valuable picks. Washington or the Jets will most likely take Mariotta.

We are not almost there....I serious doubt we are going to give up draft choices just to move up a couple spots.

One of these players will be there at 7

Cooper, White, Ray, Gregory, Shelton

According to the draft trade chart, it would probably cost us our 3rd and 4th picks, or something similar (approx 300 points on the chart).

The chart teams use when making trades, giving a numerical value to each draft choice.

Why would we trade up? Have you taken a look at our roster? I'm not trying to be too snide, but damn... Trading up would be extremely unwise.

Yes, God forbid we miss out on the next Chris Conte or Ego Ferguson. Let's let someone else get the next Justin Houston or Aldon Smith.

Aldon was picked 7th overall and Justin was a 3rd round pick. Come on guy...

It is kind of comical that he chose those two guys to represent his argument since here are where the stud (or at least very good) pass rushers from that draft went:

Von Miller -- 2nd overall
Aldon Smith -- 7th overall
JJ Watt -- 11th overall
Robert Quinn -- 14th overall
Ryan Kerrigan -- 16th overall
Cameron Jordan -- 24th overall
Justin Houston -- 3rd round (79th overall)

Obviously that was one of the best pass rusher classes recently, but still...

And, given that there are four guys that most think are top-10 worthy pass rushers in this draft (Fowler, Beasley, Ray, Gregory) it's almost inconceivable that at least one of them won't be available at 7 if that's the route Pace and Fox plan on going; especially since before us there are guys that are locks or near-locks to be taken in Winston, Williams, and one (or possibly both) of the top WRs.

I'm not ripping anybody for their opinion but based on the pool of players I think the Bears can get two damn good football players at 7 and 39. I would not be giving up picks to move up. With the deep classes at RB and WR, there might be some real interesting options in rounds 3 and 4 as well.

Just take a receiver at 7.

Don't really see a trade up - maybe down. I think both are unlikely because there will be a player they like at 7, whether it's defense or offense. There are only 6 teams ahead - if a team wants to get desperate they could trade down.

Recently? Try ever. If this group even gets close to keeping up their play from their first four years in the league, the '11-class of pass-rushers will be going down as THE best draft at that position ever - perhaps at any position.

The class was, and is, so crazy, that you even forgot to mention two of the best 300+ pound pass-rushers in the league: Muhammad Wilkerson and Jurrell Casey.

It's really deep for dline, that's what makes me think they'll take a cb or a wr. I'd take Fowler, but I think he's gone. They will draft a NT, but probably not in the first. Interesting draft.
