Who's starting for STL?

I heard Wainright was injured?

I added the games/times and starters. Wainright is good to go AFAIK though he was suffering like you said previously. Espn didn't have the projected starting line up.

The Cardinals can suck my dick!

You and I actually agree on something for once. While I respect the heck outa the Cards, I hate them and want to kick their ass. I Love how this season is kicking off with the Cubs vs Cards! I hope the Cubs are ready to come out and make a statement that they're here to play this year. :yep:

Adam Wainwright, RHP

  • Last 3 starts
  • Regular season
  • Last 5 years vs. CHC hitters
Career stats Wainwright draws the fifth Opening Day assignment of his career. A mid-February abdominal strain led Wainwright to have an abbreviated spring, but he still fit in three Grapefruit League starts. He built up to 93 pitches in the last one.

Jon Lester, LHP

  • Last 3 starts
  • Regular season
  • Last 5 years vs. STL hitters
Career stats Lester will make his second career start at Wrigley Field. The lefty's only other game there was June 16, 2012, when he got the win for the Red Sox. The Cubs will watch his pitch count after Lester missed a start this spring because of a tired arm.

Lance Lynn, RHP

  • Last 3 starts
  • Regular season
  • Last 5 years vs. CHC hitters
Career stats A left hip flexor strain limited Lynn to four spring starts, but he enters the season ready for another yeoman's workload. His 48 wins since 2012 ranks third-most among NL pitchers. Lynn signed a three-year extension with the club last offseason.

Jake Arrieta, RHP

  • Last 3 starts
  • Regular season
  • Last 5 years vs. STL hitters
Career stats Arrieta is hoping to build off last season. The right-hander was 1-0 with a 1.21 ERA in four starts against the Cardinals, holding them to three earned runs over 22 1/3 innings and striking out 28.

Jason Hammel, RHP

  • Last 3 starts
  • Regular season
  • Last 5 years vs. STL hitters
Career stats Hammel is the new guy/old guy on the team. He signed a one-year deal with the Cubs prior to the 2014 season but was traded to the A's midseason. Now he's back -- and ecstatic. Fastball command is key.

Oh I was a little worried there cuz I didn't see him in the starting rotation for this week. When he came up last year he became the best pitcher on the Cubs rotation. I would have freaked out had he not been in it this year.

I won't hate it provided the Cubs win.

I want to see the lineup. Lester will probably bat 8th. He isnt going to pitch extremely long tom. unless he just dealing. I dont know if they will give him a pitch count or what.

The question, if Maddon goes with Ross in game 1 to make Lester comfortable in his 1st start as a Cub?

I get why they do it, but I think it's stupid.

So opening day gets rained out, and the big wig with opening day tickets doesn't get to the official first game. Who cares?!

Considering it normally starts on a weekday, these people take TWO days off in case of rain. Fuck 'em! :)
