Same. He strikes me as the type who would "go home". And though we said the same thing about LeBron, I think KD is more likely to go to a team that would be more ready than Miami.

Miami needs to be able to bring in multiple big free agents.. Unless Durant had two other starts he plans on bringing with him....

Either way I fully expect Miami to stock up on some big free agent (s) in 2016.
The difference here is that Lebron started out in his hometown. It's a lot different (and harder, imo) to go the route Lebron did, as opposed to starting elsewhere and going back to your hometown like Durant may do. It's really not a fair comparison, imo.

Washington makes sense for Durant if he were to bolt because you can argue there's more potential talent there than OKC. Wall and Beal in the backcourt plus Gortat and Nene up front is very solid. Otto Porter will probably be a decent player for them as well. OKC is making a strong case though with their trades for Waiters and Kanter. And of course, Westbrook is better than everyone other than Durant himself.

Westbrook would be the reason he stays. And Waiters is an RFA that season, so if OKC doesn't want him, they don't have to keep him.

Meh I only mention Waiters because he does have talent. Definitely agree that he wouldn't be a deciding factor.

What was said in that article that indicated he's definitely going to stay in CLE?

This was the most telling thing of all:

JAMES: Well, I mean, to me, I think my ultimate -- my ultimate goal is winning championships and -- and I understand that me going down as one of the greats will not happen until I, you know, win a championship. So for me, the team that I decided to go toward (INAUDIBLE) in Cleveland, that ultimately has -- has the best chance for me to win a championship not one year, but multiple years. But for me to continue to get better and help that team win, I think, ultimately, would be my decision. I'm going to do what's best for me and my family.

......
"KING: And if one of these free agents was you and one was Bosh, would L.A. appeal to you?

JAMES: It's a great city. It's a great city. But at the same time, like I said, it's not always about the city. It's about winning. And I mean if you put me and Bosh on the same team, if you put me and Dwayne Wade on the same team or a lot of these -- me and Joe Johnson or -- or a lot of these guys, a lot of teams would be much better. You know, the Cavs would be much better. You know, all (INAUDIBLE)...

KING: (INAUDIBLE) your own team?

JAMES: Right. Absolutely. There are a lot of these teams that would be much better. So we'll see, you know, how it plays out."

He only said that CLE is the favorite... At the end of the day, he made it known that he wants to go to a team that's ready to win multiple championships. If CLE had found a way to get Bosh or another superstar, I'm sure he would have stayed. But they didn't, and LBJ pretty much did what he said he'd do... play for a team that's ready to win multiple rings.

This FA will be much drama, and the next year even more. And the fans that see the FA list as shopping lists... this is going to be a fun off-season indeed.

It means you don't take anything players say seriously.

I'm not going to get in this thing where people are pretending to know what Durant is thinking based on what Lebron did once. But I'll say there were other circumstances with LeBron that have materialized or publicly surfaced with Durant yet. Your comment is so generic that few will argue with it but the two situations aren't apples to apples...at least not yet.

Yeah. People keep saying DC. It might be true but it's hardly bulletproof speculation. To wit, Durant grew up in the middle of ACC/Big East territory. He could have gone to any number of schools in those conferences: UNC; UVa; Georgetown; Maryland; etc.. But he went to Texas instead.

If DC is so important to him, why go to Texas?

I would throw all kinds of money at Nick Batum & Bradley Beal. Possibly Mike Conley,Jr. In 2016.

If Westbrook goes to the Lakers as expected, Durant will certainly stay in OKC as he will have complete ownership of the team.

Batum? Really? Have you seen how he's played since signing that big extension with the Blazers a few years ago?

Beal is nice and is the type of player i like but hes been injury prone...that would be something i considered before throwing the bank at him considering with what we've dealt with

Yeah. I watch alot of trailblazer games on csnnw. He is a 3&d guy who can also get you assists. He is what I'd call a jack of all trades type. I really like Conley. He plays good defense and is a solid pro and young. I like Beal because of his potential as a scorer.
