Several posts in this thread mentioning Russell, too. I do wonder with what we've seen already this year, if he rakes in Iowa, do they bring him up this year? The thought really fascinates me.

Feel like people are getting WAY too impatient. Russell hasn't even had 300 PAs in AA and AAA combined. If people want to argue that Bryant needs to be up at 23 ok but Russell has just turned 21.

How much longer does he have before he gets to that # of PA's?

Looks like I was looking at AB's not PAs(they are right next to each other here). He had 262 in AA and has had 42 in AAA so we're at 304 total for AA/AAA. Bryant had something like 300 at each level not to mention 2 more years of college and they were obviously still holding him back.

I mean that's the thing with these prospects. First it was the OMG why isn't Baez up. Now it's Bryant. Next Russell. Not long after it will be Scwarber...ect. I honestly feel like Baez should be the cautionary tale. Obviously, I'm down on him as a player comparative to some but I don't mean that as a slight toward him just that he clearly wasn't ready.

It's the opposite of "He gone." In the grand scheme of Chicago sports it doesn't seem that bad. Obviously YMMV.

At least it wasn't called. “Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum.”

I predict Bryant steps up to the plate for AB #1 and calls his shot.. 5 seconds later, the sweet sound is heard round the world.

And I truly believe Alcantara adds something to the lineup,

what is it exactly that you like about his 2 hits thus far(one vs drawn in IF that would have been a game killing dp) or are you impressed with his ability to make routine grounders to 2nd an event? or perhaps his inability to make the turn on a dp..lets be honest, Russell cant get here fast enough to close that gap in the lineup at second base.

If he bats .270-.280 has 20-25 HRs in his first year I wouldn't be upset.

WOW it's happening

I hope he handles the pressure and the fans don't expect 40 homeruns

Whoever is expecting 40 HR's is crazy and delusional....

He's going to hit 83!

.265/.350/.500 with 28 HR seems like a reasonable expectation for this year.

We're on the same page. Those are the type of numbers I expect. I just hope he doesn't try to press too much.

I was literally just going to ask how long before the first Bryant sucks thread.

Not gonna start a thread after one at bat, but I will say: BUST!
