How does everyone think Houston and Young will do returning from injury and adapting to a new defensive scheme?

I don't think Houston will have a problem, but Young may have an adjustment period.

I'm sure when Fangio was in SF and watched Houston in OAK he would have loved to have had him on his roster.

Should be interesting how he wants to use him now that he does.

I like Young, I hope he can adjust to the new scheme.

If Houstons knee is alright (I'm not sure if he's medically cleared) he should be s good player. He was an ascending player and the best player in oaklands 3-4 defense. Achilles heals are really tricky so idk how young will be, he was a good rusher with good hips so I thought he would make a good rush LB.

Maybe so, but sure beats having to continue on that horrific Shea thread that just won't die.

That's the worst part about the Tucker years IMO, its hard as hell to evaluate the new players.

Huston was underwhelming, but was that due to coaching, scheme or his talent?

Houston didn't rack up sacks but racked up a ton of pressures, so to say he was a failure is pretty harsh. He is playing out of,position he's not a bend the edge type player.

You're not going to see him sink his inside hip and curl inside the tackle, that's not his skillset.

I only said he was underwhelming not a failure.

1 sack by the 8th game is not successful either. Not to mention on a young QB in a blowout.

***********Snaps Sacks QB Hits QB Hurries Disruptions
L. Houston 252 0 6 11 17
J. Allen 246 0 4 8 12

I guess J Allen wasn't too bad either???

Well Houston sucked ass before he mercifully (for us) blew up his knee.

Young has an injury that many never return from and if they do, it's at a reduced capacity and at least 12 months.

In short, don't see either coming back before Nov-Dec and neither having an impact when/if they do.

Nice logic. We better get Jeffery and Long off the team too.

So like you brilliantly said, let's get rid of them.
