With Pacioretty injured, the Sharp to Montreal rumors should start heating up.

Or you could send Sharp and Johns to Dallas for Garbutt and Daley...

From everything I'm seeing/reading about Trevor Daley, he is less than good.

The worst part of this deal is losing Stephen Johns.

I think this was the best Stan could do. No team was stupid enough to overpay for him.

I just wish we didn't lose yet another prospect.

NHL off season sucks. You don't even have the time to enjoy the Cup b/c you have to deal with this crap

Daley and Garbutt combine for $5.1 million in cap space, Sharp was $5.9. So you're only getting 800k of cap relief with this deal. And you lose what was probably the best D prospect in the system. Scratching my head on this one.

Oduya is basically gone now. Daley isn't bad, will be fine as a 4th/5th dman

If by some miracle they are able to re-sign Oduya, that makes next year's D corps deeper than the one that just won the Cup. Daley as a 5th D-man isn't too bad.

I really do hate that Johns & Paliotta have both been traded now leaving the immediate prospect core of the D very slimmed down now. I know the immediate or close to playing RHD was log-jammed but it's down to just TVR/Pokka. I think a problem is while most every fan is writing of Rundblad as a crummy #8 guy it seems Stan is making him more trusted than we think. Which sounds very scary.

Well they have a new cheap 3rd line LWer if they keep Garbutt so moving Bickell is still critical to save 3.2 mil in that role. I don't quite get how they'll be able to easily now if it is taking a harsh value for Sharp
