13F=bench, RF=Rockford,

Until the roster is set we have a hard time projecting how difficult it is to replace production. Right now we aren't missing too much because of the quality of our depth. You can just plug Sharp into 1LW for instance and feel like you are as good as anybody in the league.

MAIN AREAS OF CONCERN 2015-2016 AS THEY DEVELOP
1) The big concern. Loss of Saad. With Sharp, no concern. Without Sharp, we have several bullets to fire at this. Kane, Teuvo, Dano, Panarin. But the depth starts to sting and you are crossing your fingers a lot and weakening other areas of the team bringing these pieces into the role.
2) Loss of centers. Well...its fixed at the high cost of Saad. We got much younger, and its solved for 5 years. The playmaking loss of Richards to Kane pairing needs to be filled from within. That falls to either Teuvo or Dano developing into the 2C level. Its not too wishful to believe that can happen by next years playoffs, sheltered and carried by the fallback of Anisimov and the dart of Tikhnikov. Anyway, its clear we have 5 or 6 centers and prospects too now where nobody is forced out of position and wings can be left at wing. Its still something to keep an eye on. Hopefully Anisimov can at least replace Vermette at 3C role and its penciled in for 5 years. Ok....wash. Vermette had 3 big goals for us, without them we would really feel bitter to that guy. He came through in huge moments and won some face-offs and got the third line going with Sharp and Teuvo. I think we should all just breathe a sigh of relief and be happy we are moving onto Anisimov. Richards is a hard guy to replace, Dano or Teuvo have to be special to do it. If Teuvo gives us Saad's replacement maybe Dano gives us Richards? Done and done. We could be better than last year.
3) The third line. I think with the players we will be slotting into 1st and 2nd line voids can have the same production as last year or better. The quality of how the third line fills out is going to rely upon a bunch of Russians or prospects, Teuvo and Dano may be involved. Who knows. Will update. Worst case scenario we will have to pluck Shaw/Kruger from the fourth line to keep this afloat. Or make a trade if its that bad.
4) The defensive depth and that 4D pairing. Just have to cross our fingers on Johns being better than Oduya and a legit 1st or 2nd paring guy. This is probably the most likely position on the team that could force us to make a trade deadline move. Any injury to a top 4 defenseman would force our hand or end our season. Cumiskey, TVR, Forslong, Pokka, Runblaad are going to have to float that third pairing and the depth beyond. I'm really only relieved if by some miracle Johns>Oduya and Pokka is like a ready now phenom. I expect we can rely on Cumiskey, Runblaad, and TVR to remain at the 6D-7D level and be relied on. So we have a steady third pairing and just need one of this entire list to step up to 4D. Your first up Johns!!!
