Allen will be an asset this year but he's not that guy any more. Bringing him in to play 2 gap was idiotic. He'll be put in better spots for what he can do this year.

There were tons of snaps where he had no 2 gap responsibilities and just ran wild at the edge last yr. Unfortunately he simply wasn't quick enough off the ball to beat anyone right away, and didn't have explosive/heavy enough hands to make something happen when he was engages/he engages.
That isn't the scheme; that is his skills eroding.
