Interesting. After watching the video, his first cuts were nearly always to the middle of the field and always North/South. When Hester had his best returns, that's what he did.

Which kind of reminds me of some poster on here being all over the nuts of a bunch of has-beens/never-weres like Anderson, Allen, Williams, Wilson, Weems, and so on.

Weems was a very solid NFL ST guy. The Bears had a massive hole at return man until Rocky Marciano came off the couch.

IIRC, Weems went back to Atlanta and had a nice season.

For what it's worth, Eric Weems is a very nice NFL special teams player.

There have only been a small number of special teamers over the age of 30 that are worth their vet min. contract. Brian Mitchell comes to mind, but his style had little to do with explosion and more to do with getting as many yards as he could on each opportunity.

IMO returning the football is a younger man's game. Typically best for explosive athletes that are on the roster bubble and for a late draft pick contract they are worth their keep in that specialized role.

Cool. We picked up another player Cutler will refuse to throw to no matter how open he gets.

I think a former teammate speaks louder than a formula.

If so, I will happily quote some Marshall and Urlacher.

Or I could just let the fact that our HC got so sick of Cutler fucking over the team that he benched him for Clausen stand on it's own?

But that was due to poor execution. Not lack of effort.

You say poor execution, I say that he refused to run what the coaches called.

But don't let what Trestman or Kromer say get in the way of your undying support.

On that note, other than 9 years of futility, what will it take for you to see things realistically?

Last year pushed me over the edge. In fact one of my most disputed and commented on threads on here was one in which I supported Cutler and freeze framed a throw McCown couldn't make but Cutler could.

So what will it take for you PIB or HBK to finally get it?
