I have no idea why the Browns gave him a 2 year deal worth $13M ($9M guaranteed). Maybe he's getting paid more as the official McCown hype man?

Funny thing is that he had that one elite season with 1100+ yards and 15 TDs, two other decent seasons (for a #1 target), and the rest of his career has been pretty mediocre.

He is what he has always been a AAAA QB (to borrow from MLB term). He is great is spot situations, but he will never be able to carry an offense for a full season.

Top five QB in conning teams from their money man. Man he parlayed the Bears success for a good contract with Tampa and now with Cleveland. McNabb robbed Washington, Vick got philly after a good half season, flacco after his super bowl run and finally chicago's own jay cutler.

The reason Josh McCown gets so much love in this league is because he works hard, knows the ins and outs of his offense and play book and does diligent work in the film room like a coach. McCown may not be the most talented QB in the NFL but people respect him for all the work he puts in. Work other QBs don't bother putting at all, aka Johnny Manziel and other super talented over hyped failures that fall flat on their face in this league.
