I would definitely welcome the move. I never really wanted him gone in the first place I understand that that he's no stat machine, but when healthy he has reliable hands, & he seemed to make the catches he did get count at crucial times. Who knows maybe some time off was exactly what Earl needed to help out with the problems he started to have with injuries.
No he won't be a stat monster, but as another poster mentioned, he will go over the middle, he doesn't drop the ball much, makes tough catches, & seems to make them count when the Bears need them most. Heading into a third season I just don't see where Marquis Wilson has shown anything at all, let alone what the Bears got out of Earl over the same span of time.
I would call him up at this point.
