It seems as though our roster, as currently built, is a bit overpopulated in some areas and pretty barren in others. Now, while I'll admit player for player trades, especially of real significant value are pretty rare, players for picks obviously isn't. However, as our roster starts to take shape, we see that we need help, particularly in the backfield and RT.

As our roster currently stands, what players do you see carrying any significant trade value?

OLB for sure

Willie young is coming off a 10 sack season and I think he is our best bet at finding any real value. He's good enough to stay on the roster and we're deep enough to let him go without really downgrading all that much in talent. He's coming off injury, but I believe he can still be around a 5th round value.

Houston - Another guy coming off surgery but he's a younger player with ability. 5-6 round pick in terms of value IMO.

RB-

This is a bit tricky. We have what "appears" to be some pretty good depth, but NOBODY outside of Forte is particularly established. Nobody is going to trade for Jacquizz seeing as they could have just picked him up this F.A, Carey or Perry haven't done enough to really stand out and langford is a rookie with promise, he's not tradeable. Therefore, our best bet value IMO is Forte.

What could we get for Forte though? Could we net a 2nd rounder? Is the position undervalued to the point where a 2nd rounder is out of the question? If a team isn't willing to trade a pick, is there a D.B. currently on the tradeblock whose team could use a RB. That would be best case scenerio IMO.

Anybody else on the roster that we might be able to trade for a solid ROI?

I doubt a team would give up a 5th or 6th for Young, or Houston, especially Houston because of his contract. Young is more likely but a slim chance nonetheless.

I do think a player for player deal is workable and would like to see an attempt made for a Corner or Tackle.

Because they're coming off injuries or because they're not good enough players to warrant a 5th or 6th? I can see Young being a pretty solid addition to a 4-3 team as a rush specialist. I suppose "rush specialist" does bring your value down a bit though, as well as being married to a 4-3

Tough to make trades right now. What would a team give up knowing the cuts are coming soon?

Actually I was talking about trades with a buddy who likes Washington. We both couldn't figure out why the hell they traded a 5th round pick for a TE (Carrier)? Why wouldn't they just sign a couple scrubs for the next preseason game and start adding players as they are being cut. Why give up valuable future resources (i.e. draft picks) for a backup when the pool of FA talent is on the cusp of growing?

Injuries and contracts, that's why I think Young is more doable at 3 mil per, but Houstons 8 mil per would be hard to trade. I mean, we just got a 6th for multi year probowler Brandon Marshall. I think if anything, teams will take the wait and see who gets cut approach but you never know.

Because of upcoming cuts, we won't see any value for any realistic trade candidates. I don't think teams will be willing to give up much of anything for Young and I would rather keep Houston because I feel he's going to have a good season. Maybe we can get a 5th or 6th for Young...

Forte on the last year of his deal and at 30 years old won't bring back much. I would say 4th at best and maybe even a 5th. That said, I would still make the deal because I don't think he'll be back next year, struggles running between the tackles, and I like our depth at RB...however unproven they are. This isn't a contending team anyways.

THere's still the possibility we trade Kevin White to a team that is built to win next year, maybe get some Right Tackles?

Maybe the Browns would trade Joe Thomas for Kevin White straight up. They are the Browns!

No one is giving up anything for Matt Forte. 30 year old back making over eight million this year and will be a FA at the end of the season is worth nothing.

I feel you could perhaps help expedite the situation or at least bring attention to it, if you started a right tackle mafia with your chat group. That way the league will know we're looking for a right tackle and Email us with any suitable trades.

It's something?

Suprised no one has mentioned Martellus Bennett as he often wants a trade when he isn't telling people about it on social media.

The thing with Forte is it seems none of the others can catch like he can.
For me it'd come down to what's the plan for after his contract is up. If he's going to be told to walk I'd consider listening to offers. With the WR's being beat up I probably wouldn't be too active at trying though.

His value is extremely low, no doubt...but to say no one would give up anything is a stretch. He's still a productive player and for a fringe playoff team, or even an established team, Forte for a 5th rounder is reasonable if they believe it would push them to the next level. Especially if a team suffers a major injury at RB. You have to imagine that Forte as a feature back is pretty much a lock for at least 1,200 all purpose yards. If you're a team with stud tackles and you can get Matt outside, while having his ability to catch the ball, I don't see why a contending team wouldn't give up a 5th rounder.

That said, I think the Bears are actually trying to compete this year and don't see the benefit in trading Forte for a pick that probably won't amount to anything.

Forte has more value here than else where. He'll be a productive rusher, receiver, and pass blocker. But equally as important, he'll be an excellent mentor for Landford.

Young is too good a football player to throw away for a 5th rd. pick! You can never have too many good pass rushers.

I'd try and trade Cutler to the Jets who lost their qb. The Jets just might be willing to hand over the qb job to Cutler
