How would people feel about

1. OT Ronnie Stanley
2. QB Cody Kessler

I like this better ... just don't see a QB taken by the Bears

1) Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame
2) Tony Conner, S/CB, Ole Miss

So we could cut Cutler after this season June 1st, but it is at best to cut him after 2017?

Looking at Dead Cap, it's better to cut Jay in 2017 (after 2016).

That's what I thought. Jay's our starter for the next two years and people are just going to have to deal with it. That's why I don't see them taking a quarterback early next year. Instead, I see them taking one sometime during Day 2 though.

Since we already know it is going to be a bad season, I have already started my mock offseason.

Oh cool, so we get to move on from Jay Cutler just to get Jay Cutler Jr.. Goff & Kessler are the best actual QB's from this upcoming draft.

When a Cal Golden Bears season ticket holder and a respected Chicago Bears draft opinion giver comes in and tells us that Goff is overrated and his numbers are inflated by the Sonny Dykes (Mike Leach Texas Tech days) Air Raid offense I sit up and take notice and listen to what he has to say. I can also state that as a Pac-12 fan I had not even considered Goff among the top QBs in the conference. To say Goff is among the best QB prospects in the country is asinine. To say that Kessler is among the best is fucking reprehensible.

Kessler is the worst QB prospect to come out of USC from the last decade and EVERY Souther California QB that's been drafted into the NFL has fucking flopped in a big way. Kessler is fucking awful.

Yes! This guy knows what he is talking about. To add to this, Connor Cook is bad too. He is Andy Dalton Jr.

So you want to have a second year third rounder or lower as your starting QB in 2017? Effing genius. Now we just need to draft the next Tom Brady. Pressure is on Mr. Pace.

+1,000. Goff is a bigger, slightly more athletic version of your Devil QB Berco, that was my observation based on Berco's small sample size.

Kessler.......pffffft, will be selling insurance after his rookie contract expires.

Conor Cook OTOH, that's an NFL QB.

What I am saying is the Bears should draft a quarterback sometime between rounds 3 and 5 next year and develop him during the 2016-17 season. Then after that season, they would decide if that QB is the future or not. If they aren't sure, then they would consider drafting one again early and have the two battle it out.

Stanley or Smith in the first. Russell in the second if he falls. Notre Dame homerism at it's finest, but it would make me happy.

I could go with that. I'd take Tunsil instead and Sutton in the second if available, but everyone has their own opinions.

Given that the Bears are in need of a lot of players, would it make more sense for them to employ a strategy of trading back in the draft and collecting picks or trading back up into the first round with mid round picks sacrificed and grabbing picks that stick.

Awaiting the first dummy that "reminds" us that trading back is for losers and never works out. 3....2......1........

13 million dead cap I can deal with. But you can keep him I guess and make him a backup for that price. You really might need to address finding a readoption type of QB who can come in and make plays.

Scooby Wright was in Walter's mock draft.

The kid is one hell of a passrusher for UA. He's darn near unblockable, and he rushes 3-gap half the time.

But I think you might have to take a lineman with phsyical attirbutes. The saints have a history of drafting OL heavy then addressing WR with big bodies. I look to them getting OT in the first round. Maybe CB in the 2nd round.

Kyle Fullers brother will also be there in the 1st round.

While I think Scooby Wright could be a good player in the NFL, I don't think he is worth a top ten pick right now, but he is certainly a first round pick though.

With Cutler being stuck with us for the next two years, I don't see them taking a quarterback early, so I think it will be an offensive lineman instead. I don't see them drafting any big body WRs because we have so many. Right now, I have them taking Laremy Tunsil in the first and a CB in either Cam Sutton or KeiVarae Russell in the second depending on who's available.

Kendall Fuller is overrated IMO. I don't see him as a top 50 pick right now.

Cutler is our starter next year and people are going to have to deal with it. They aren't making him the backup at his salary. Not a big fan of read option QBs though. The only dual-threat quarterback I like this year is Jacoby Brissett out of NC State though.

From everything I've seen and read...he seems to be best of the Fuller bunch, but I'd rather have VH or Russell.

This would be the smart thing to do.

Hopefully somebody will fall to the Bears in the 2nd or 3rd round this draft and can start learning while Cutler or the young kid plays 2017. When the Bears are finally free of the Cutler money take a guy early in 2017 to battle it out with our 2016 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Meanwhile you got a 1st round CB/OT/NT/OLB in 2016 and 2nd round OT/CB/OLB/NT joining the team in 2017.
