If he clears waivers can he go to Rockford or is he a free agent and are we eligible to sign him at league minimum?

In all seriousness surprised that Dano was sent down. Happy that Bain made it , I really like what I have seen so far. Really looking forward to Parain. Hope to see Dano soon, wonder if they will do with him like they did with Teuvo last year.

Mashinter and Pokka were sent down for a day earlier this week. I'm sure it's the same with Dano. ??? Anyone know reasoning? Roster numbers, see how they handle the news. From what we have seen of Dano and Q's comments this is only a place holder or to see if they can challenge him to reach another gear and compete like he isn't secure of a spot in the final game. They also may just want to keep Dano busy early in the season and season him to Blackhawks hockey style a bit, or let some trusted coaches in minors work with him briefly. It's possible it also softens the blow to some of the other youngsters, like surprise Dano didn't even make it makes a Hartman or Maahinter not lose as much confidence.

I look at Baun as Bickell's replacement, the power forward role. AA is Kane's new personal escort, they sound like they want to try Teuvo out at Center and escort him with Baun, and maybe Garbutt. Speed and power and both tenacious to flank him with physical players that draw the physical attention away from him, perhaps allowing him to focus on playmaking.

Tikhonov is a heady player who would also go well on the Teuvo-Garbutt line. His heady hockey sense, stick skills, and spacing could be a nice fit there with the two speedier players to balance him out.

I don't know - Baun took a couple of dumb penalties in the first -which isn't criminal -but that second one was block headed and basically came after his first shift after his first penalty in a scoreless game ... in the offensive zone ... dumb dumb dumb - am not sure Q is into that level of bone-headedness if he has other options. I guess we'll see.

Bickell is only going to play 10-12 minutes per night as it is so I don't see the benefit of him playing in Chicago. He won't increase his trade value in that type of scenario. They save 950k if they dump him in Rockford. As long as the person they call up has a cap hit equal or less than that, it's a wash. Too bad Danault isn't healthy because it would be nice to have him as another center in the lineup.

As long as the person they call up has a cap hit equal or less than that? Explain more please?

1) Who in the hell would be in rockford with a cap hit the size of Bigfoot? Unless Dano is down there to get extended already, and they could do some weird cap bullshit.
2) it seems the 950 will doom him with plethora of similar ability players available to plug in making near the minimum (Garbutt per cap hit/Baun/Dano/Tikhonov/Desjardins/Cumiskey

The 'benefit' might only be that it is easier to showcase a guy for a trade (one of 29 other teams would need to change their mind), in the NHL as opposed to Rockford.

I don't buy Shaw as much of a solution to LW with Toews and Hossa ... have to think Panarin is going to be paired with either Tikhonov or Anisimov until he can get comfortable in English (it looks to be awhile for that), but he speaks hockey so I mean that is a universal for that career. The thing that this does is sort of mess with Quenneville's style of intergame line shuffling across all 4 lines -it sorta creates a set line for a change (or I guess it might sorta do that).

Bickell isn't that garbage of a player that he shouldn't be on your club. No guy like Baun or McNeil or Hartman have proven they can really be up to NHL level ot take him down anyway.

For his cap hit not worth it. Since he hasn't played up to the level that got him that salary what would be an acceptable price for him .....1 mil per?
